Any thoughts on how I might be able to pull off a switch?? I'd like the fatter rubber too.

I am in a similar situation; I decided on the OBX but want the steelies. Someone posted a link not long ago from hubcap heaven. They have the same wheels and Ford center caps but not Bronco center caps yet. My plan is to get those once I can buy the Bronco steel wheel center caps and put them on with BF Goodrich KO2's. Link below to the wheels. Hope this helps.

Lol at the centre cap being more than half the price of the wheel.

Yes, that made me scratch my head. I hope we can get the Bronco center caps at a more reasonable price. I also believe in Santa Claus... JK

I am thinking of going 4 door base and getting the black steelies from the link. I would have the center cap from base wheels.

I would probably put on 265 70r17 tires. We know they fit from BD. Maybe have a tire shop try and fit 285s. I just do know know how the 3.73 gearing would be. I really do not need 285s anyway.

I just do not know if it is worth getting a base, have a hard time getting speedo adjusted to 265s, add tint, hitch. Might be better just to go BB or BD.

Are those the same wheels that will be used on the bronco?

Yes, and the website has two types of wheels, OEM and OE. Some are reconditioned to standard and others are replica to a high standard that they describe on their site.

I'd post on a Bronco forum and ask if anyone wants to swap!

Seriously though, the Black Diamond steelies seem to be polarizing enough that there should be a BD buyer willing to swap. Maybe they don't want the BB wheels necessarily but the way some people don't like the steelies they might just make the trade anyway. Both wheels are 17x7.5, regardless if they come with different size tires initially.

I though about powder coating the base steelies black. It would almost cost the same to just to buy new steelies. Plus, I like the 17" rims the best.
