Bay Area Broncos

Here we go with the new G.O.A.T’s of the bay!!

well, just e-mailed my B&P to Walnut Creek Ford as they asked, orders seem to open Dec 7th and they want to get a head start. Cyber Orange Badlands, 2.7 Auto, Sashquatch, soft top, Lux, tow package (overpriced but one less thing to deal with) and wheel locks. Exciting times. I still hate the black seats, but I'll deal with that later if they really get too hot in summer.
Only thing I might change is the roof if/when we ever get to see how the soft top works and it turns out to be a PITA, hopefully they took the best from the Wrangler and made it at least equal, if not better. I really prefer the idea of having all of my roof with me at all times, easy full open, easy close once Karl the Fog moves in :)

Now I can start looking at trails and plan some trips and hope that Covid doesn't throw an other wrench into my plans with eternal delays, LOL.

Now the wait begins....

Oh, for now WC Ford does not require any additional deposit, which is nice.

I haven't sent my Build to Shahram yet, but I will be soon. I'm going Cyber Orange Badlands too. 2 door, 2.7, Auto, Non-Squatch but upgraded wheels, Lux, Tow, Roof Rack & Yakima medium basket, Winch, & Amber Underbody Lights. Very excited! Here's to hoping the wait won't be too long. Enjoy!

Since the soft top is standard, and if you upgrade to hard; do you get both?

@Daktari Thanks for your info. I did read some threads and, someone made a good point. Something that's unknown pertains to the wiring. Will a soft top order still have the hardware to accommodate a hard top?

@Carbnight good question and as far as I know they all will have the wiring and plumbing installed, somewhere was a thread where this was supposedly confirmed by Ford. I asked my dealer and he only knows what he read here, so for now I'm just hoping that's true. Otherwise I'd get the hard top or dual top.
I believe Wranglers don't have the stuff installed if you order soft top and it's a pain to install it later, you even have to switch out the wiper switch on the steering column etc. Never made sense to me that Jeep doesn't just toss the same harness in all vehicles and make an upgrade to a different top easy. Can't really save all that much money during build, a couple cables and a rubber hose.
So I'm hoping what I read here is true and it will be there. Sales man said he'll let me know if he ever gets official info, we'll see.

After completing the build online, are you just taking screenshots of the info? How are you capturing your build and emailing it in?

@SlamForce at the bottom of the B&P there's a print button to the right of the Summary tag. Just print to PDF.

Do we know anything about the dual roof option, and why does the "Hard Top Sound Deadening Headliner" get removed with the 2.7L engine option???

I switched out from them, because they are MSRP locked. Wouldn't even consider haggling. They lost my two orders.

@Chief1301 Apparently Walnut Creek has changed their tone since I was reserved with them. They wouldn't honor X-plan and wouldn't consider matching it when I was reserved with them. I assume they had a boat load of reservations leave to Serramonte and have since changed their tone to retain reservations. They are too late for my two orders though.

@simpleBO Sorry to hear that! Now I'm a little concerned! Shahram Tavakol posted the following in his thread here on 6g.

"After speaking with the management team at Walnut Creek Ford, we have decided on the following: For all of the valued guests that have reserved with us, we greatly appreciate you working with us, and know how important it is to have a transparent Bronco buying experience. As long as you have a valid X-plan pin [MUST], we will honor x-plan pricing for reservations placed with us prior to 10/19/2020".

Have you had your reservation with WC before 10/19/20? And if so? What did Shahram tell you? Or did you speak with another sales associate at WC? If you've had your reservation with WC all along? I find it hard to believe that Shahram would go back on his word. I understand it's too late for you now. I'm just curious about your correspondence with WC. Please elaborate. The good thing is we all have until January 31st to transfer our reservations, and they can be transferred at least twice. I sure everything will go well with your purchase from Sean and Serramonte Ford. Sean seems like a good guy. Happy Thanksgiving!

@Chief1301 I can't recall the exact date. But I believe it was before they decided to change and honor x-plan. My interaction with him was less than stellar. He shot down my attempts to haggle and even get x-plan, which to be honest isn't much savings over MSRP at all. These dealers are making plenty on each sale. X-plan is petty.

Serramonte wasn't bullshitting with me from the get-go. So they are getting my money.
