Anybody have plans in December for a ride in Georgia?

I’d be interested, depending on the intensity of the trail, as I’m a newbie. Following to see what happens =)

I am going to look into putting an outing together the weekend of the 21st. Out of the country at the moment. Will just be FSR riding.

Down with a couple of the Dec weekends free. Was thinking of a ride maybe the second weekend.

@TheI3lindMan Daughter’s birthday takes precedent over all things. Nothing wrong with a Sunday ride. With midweek rain, tracks could be a bit more fun as well. We usually meet up kind of early, like 9-10am and likely done before 2pm. Unless others have some suggestions, I’ll map some route options. Nothing crazy, just runs in the woods. Interesting stuff is always nearby should the itch strike!

While we’re at it, maybe a ride between Christmas and New Year’s as well. May be a NYE or day run, but college football! lol!

@Rspayde Yeah, let’s do something Sunday. I’m not likely to do NYE or anything and definitely not NYD. I’ve been mapping a route and will DM you and see where you’re thinking.

@vrtical Now that this Sunday is screwed for me, I will want to head out, even if Friday the 27th or Sat 28th even, but no NYE or DAY for me this year. I haven't run a trail since October and starting to feel like a mall crawler. lol! Time for some dirt!

@TheI3lindMan Of course you can. That Bronco can do more than you’re giving it credit; just take it easy and we’ll walk you through anything that you may feel is suspect. We’ve all been there, bud. You’ll be just fine.

Yeah, I’ve got to head home to Birmingham to help my mom with something. Was looking forward to Sunday. Hope y’all still head out with Ryan and have some fun. It’ll be a little wet too which is always extra fun!

Looks like my Sunday is pretty open now or at least I can blow off the other plans that we're taking time to materialize.

If anyone is going to join up let me know. Will be a very casual ride mainly FSR with an option for a bit more if there is interest. If you have radios (gmrs or ham) we can communicate efficiently on trail.

I will bring recovery gear, even though we are very very unlikely to need it and I'm winched up now as well. Should be off the trail at or before lunch.

We can plan to meet at 2328 Nimblewill Church Rd, Dahlonega, GA 30533 at 9AM with a plan to head out before 9:30. This church will not have a service on Sunday so should be open to meet.

If no one confirms I will not show up so let me know if you'll be meeting me up there.

@Rspayde Yep - I'd be up for that. Meetup time is good too. Would be nice if there were at least 3 of us though. (Not technically a group otherwise, LMAO.) Could be chilly & wet, but not freezing at least.

@Rspayde Sign up me and my daughter we will be there. Just a few follow up questions, what does FSR mean? How long do you expect us to be? Just need to let the better half know about when to expect us home.

@TheI3lindMan FSR is a forest service road mainly gravel with some very light ruts or rocks.

I'd expect to be done by lunch roughly.

Just word to the wise it is always good practice to have an active fishing or hunting license on you when driving through WMA land which will will be on Sunday.

I've never been stopped but the fees go to conservation efforts and it's good to have if you decide to fish at any point.

@Rspayde So, my mom’s friend saved me a trip! Still meeting tomorrow at 9:00 at Nimblewill Church? I’ll be there and can hang out until around 2:00, but we’re usually done before then.

Was good meeting you and your daughter @TheI3lindMan. Was wet and muddy, cold above 3000ft, but that was all part of the adventure. Look forward to having you join rides in the future. @JF Bronc, good riding with you again bud. Will plan something for after Christmas, so thinking that Friday Dec 27, so details to follow.

I'm going to be traveling fairly sporadically until the end of the month. I'll be down in Jan though!
