New England Broncos

Group for people in New England to talk, show off, and go off roading

Drove by my dealership yesterday and noticed a Bronco parked out front. Got an email today saying their mannequin came in and they're scheduling test drives! After calling, they told me they're scheduling test drives from 9:00-2:00pm M-F and each drive is for a 60 minute block. He also made it sound like they can sell the thing to the general public after 6,000 miles...don't know what that's about.

It's a silver, non-squatch, Outer Banks with soft-top and located at Bill Dube Ford in Dover, NH. Call and ask for Lancer (the sales guy not the Mitsubishi) to schedule a drive. Not sure if non-Dube reservation holders follow the same process but also sounds like you could just walk in on the weekends and roll the dice to get a drive in.

I'll be scheduling mine later in the week and will try to find a trail near the dealership to roll on for the test. I'm a noob though so if anyone knows any appropriate trails in the Dover area let me know!

Last week I test drove a Bronco 2-door. At the end of the test, the salesman said that vehicle was not yet under contact and if I was interested management could make me a deal. Money always talks! Another aspect to consider is the strong possibility Ford will ease the restrictions on when demo Broncos can be sold. That is what they did with the Bronco Sport. Once again, money talks!

The mannequin program states they can not sell it for 6 months, no mention of miles... (and a dealer can sell it before then, it just means they get penalized).

Either the person you spoke to was confused, or it's an additional internal requirement they have imposed on themself.

I understood his conversation to mean, I had the ability to place that Bronco under contact with the stipulation I could not take delivery until the Ford requirements were met. Seemed reasonable and no violation of the mannequin program. I did not at any time feel either the salesman or I were miscommunicating. Does that seem reasonable to you?

I wonder if they let you take it without a sales rep in the passenger seat. If they go with, they probably have a mild trail that they will coach you through. At least that was my experience with other brands. If you get to take it on your own, take some video of how much air you get. ha ha.

@RhodeIslandRed If they even let you take it off road at all, it will defintely be with a Ford employee. I doubt any dealership would just hand over the keys and let you drive off with a brand new vehicle for a test drive, but that would be sweet.

The guy there is not exactly on top of things but on the phone he made it sound like I'll show up, fill out the paper work, he'll hand me the keys and I'll see him in an hour. Could definitely change once a manager gets involved but I'll let you know how it goes when I get a time blocked off.
