I asked this question on one of the threads but no one has answered:

What does a "washout interior" mean exactly?! that you can leave the top off during a down pour or it just applies to the seats and the floor (floor with a drain plug)?

any of you guys have an idea?

Maybe water resistant. Like I’m not hosing off the speakers, stereo head unit or anything with electrical. Just me, but don’t think it’s a water “proof” car

It has been made to be water and splash resistant, not water proof (no submerging.) I left my old YJ out in a storm when I was at work years ago, drained the standing water and shop vacced out the rest at a nearby car wash and it was good to go. Good thing about Bronco is if you jump in with wet or muddy boots, when you get home you just open the drains and hose it out and let dry.

@Zero_chance Ha ha ... I have been stuck in storms so many times with my JK's too. I never put the top on so I got really good at following weather radar :)

I think you can hose it off. I wouldn't use a power washer, but you could hose off the seats and floorboards. But then again, I can only speak on my experience with my Jeeps

Nailed it

hmmmm .... what about the dash area? will it survive if left in the rain?

@buzpro Most of the dash sits under the overhang of the windshield. Shouldn’t be an issue. They’re built for this.

Mine did on the Jeeps.... as well as speakers, etc. There is a difference between rain and submersion... lol. But a monsoon rain storm, I wouldn't think there would be issues.

I am curious about the screen though. Neither one of my JK's had that type of technology... that didn't start until the ugly JL's. But I would assume, based on the intended "purpose" of the Bronco, it would be fine.

@enro the connections are weather sealed and the chassis sits under a fairly uniform piece of the dash so it would be difficult for any water to get into sensitive areas of the head unit.

Speaking of timeframes, is everyone here reserved / buying at launch? The wife and I have to wait until she graduates so we set 3/26/22 as the date to go order. So far away...

Will there be a time limit to put in order I wonder? That's probably the date I would take delivery,I'm going with velocity blue,I heard that's a late date color.

Orders have to be in by December. I am sure the dealer will give a specific date to have yours in.

I’m sure ours will be in the 22 model year order banks and not deliver for a long time would be my guess. Or we may have to wait until the 23 ordering opens. Tough to say with all the weirdness of a new model launch.

Very nice, my middle name is el cheapo. I drive a 97 expedition, before that was an 81 escort. I ended up selling the 08 in 09. I used to leave keys in escort on purpose just to see or hoping if it would be gone. I buy used I just figured with these a used one wouldn't come done in price to much.
