Quick question, how many in the group have the 2.3 in their rigs? "Hopefully" I'm going to get to order in a month or two and back to debating engines considering I'm going to have a 2-Door. Thanks in advance

We have one of each in our house. Both in OBX 4.27 gears. I’ve never felt the 2.3 was underpowered off road and really the only time I can tell a difference is merging or passing on the highway. The 2.3 gets consistently 2mpg less than my 2.7. Wife driving could have something to do with that. On the freeway the dash mpg highest I’ve ever seen is 18mpg in the 2.3 the 2.7 I’ve seen a touch over 20mpg. The 2.3 is on 35” tires the 2.7 on 37” tires. That said the 2.3 is more pleasurable to drive in city driving. The pedal and transmission response is way better than the 2.7. The 2.7 programming is lacking. Pretty much from a stop hit the gas and start counting with the 2.7. The 2.3 when you hit the gas you move. If I were ordering again I’d probably go with the 2.3. I gotta say I’m not a speed demon by any means I’m the slow poke in the right lane. To some with bigger tires the 2.3 may seem sluggish. I know when we test drove a 2.3 3.73 gears and 35’s I was Not impressed. But the dealer had not corrected the Speedo for the tire size and the shift points didn’t feel right to me. I think that was part of the issue.

2.3L, 10AT in our 4-door Sasq. It doesn't *feel* fast but builds speed surprisingly well. Little sluggish off the line but once boost builds in second it moves pretty well. Seems to run out of steam a little at the top end when passing on the freeway, but not horrific.

Have the 2.3 and it's more than enough. Definitely doesn't feel like a sports car, but neither does the 2.7
