Made a reservation at Don Hinds in Fishers for my FE 4 Door in the Lightning Blue! Cannot wait to see it in person! Sucks about the tops not being black out the gate but they said they'd make it black for me once it's in for a decent price.

Have you talked to Don Hinds about some kind of deal since the news of no x-plan? I have my reservation there also.

Honestly I like the MIC top, I saw it at the super cel in TN, of course with the way things change with Ford it may end up being a completely different color than what they have on that overland concept. It certainly isn’t black but it’s not as grey as the photos suggest. It is a closer match to the fenders than the pictures show.

@Jdbrew - did you happen to see the black modular top in person and if so - how did it look compared to the mic top?

@Heffe66413 I saw the black “trail rig” 2 door with what I believe is the painted black modular top and Area 51 “overland” 4 door with MIC top. I personally like the way the MIC top kind of pulls together all the black plastic parts (fender flares, mirror housings) and the grille on the badlands. Badlands grille is a carbonized gray color. The MIC top seems to fit well on that bronco. I feel a painted black top would look out of place because it would be the only shiny black part on this bronco. That being said the painted black top looks great on the black bronco because it’s all the same color. If I understand right some Broncos have painted black grilles and mirror housing, the painted black top would most likely look better in this case than the MIC top too.
Someone on here mentioned possibly painting the MIC black after delivery, I feel like they’re not going to want to do that once they see it. It’s got a rougher texture than the painted top and I don’t think it will work or turn out very well.
I honestly don’t think Ford did any of the colors justice yet. Area 51 looks nothing like any pictures or rendering, same with the MIC top, it’s darker than most pictures show.

I've got an FE reservation at Don Hinds as well. I'm not thrilled with the MIC top or the interior. If I was going Lightning Blue exterior then the interior would be great...but it just clashes to much with every other exterior color. I may end up going down to a Badlands trim with a soft top...and then get the black top later when it's available. I may switch to Granger as well since it seems like they have the best deal and aren't too far away.

I have talked to my salesman. He told me they knocked off the $1895 for the inconvenience but as soon as it comes in they can aftermarket it by a wrap or paint black for $1300 roughly.
