So been posting to this forum for all of 9 days (been just reading bronco6g for much longer)... And it is pretty uncharacteristically quiet here in jersey... I know many are still waiting on delivery, and I felt your pain and I wish I had some magic power to fix that.. Some of us do have them already and probably want something else from this group.. So I guess I want to pose the question, what do we want to get out of this club page?

We can talk about what mods we are, or at least are dreaming of getting.

Or we can talk about where we want to let them run.

How about what to do with that front plate bracket your dealer installed before you can stop them from drilling holes in your paint job (been thinking of getting the bracket to relocate to the bumper - I caution make sure you are ok with the OEM plate placement or contact your dealer to not install when they receive delivery - I think front plates qualifies as a jersey issue).

We can talk about setting up meetups in your relative part of the state?

And I guess if anyone is a poet, I guess you can share that too, but in moderation and as long as its about your bronco.

Any other ideas to get some discussion happening over here?

Since the ride I’ve been rubbing my two remaining brain cells together to come up with the name for my baby now that she has proved herself worthy of one. Last night I think I came up with what I am going with but wanted to workshop it a bit. The name I may give her is “Daisy”. I think it ties to her color and is bright and simple and suits her.

Nice to see this type of engagement. I'm still waiting on mine which has a production date for Dec 6th.

I hope to join the adventures once I get it.

Regarding the mods, I'm currently looking for simple things like a 2021 Ford Bronco 12" Sync 4 Screen Protector Kit, and a paint protection film for the front. Any ideas on the paint protection film (where to get it done)?

Thanks!

ook a trip down to Wharton State Forrest with the family. My first time down there, and it was a lot of fun. I took the whole family, wife, 3 kids, and two dogs. It was pretty mellow, I expected a lot more water from videos I watched, but at least the trails we stayed on were bone dry. We started at the ranger station and stayed along Mullica river, exploring some of the off shoot trails along the water all the way down the Batsto. Then we headed back up Goodwater rd to the Quaker bridge and made our way back up. The only water we saw was a nice little mud hole just after leaving the ranger station and a small water crossing coming back up behind Batsto.
I was a little disappointed that we didn’t have more water to go through so I took a few runs through the mud hole by the ranger station, the kids loved that!
Maybe next time I have to explore more the northeast side.
Overall was a blast, a nice chill ride with the family.
It definitely has me thirsty for some more challenging terrain.

Excellent! What's the deal with access? Website doesn't list 4x4 trails or ORV trails or even open to off road vehicles. Are they more just dirt roads to get to camping sites or are they legal 4x4 trails.
Jornum1
It was my first time there but there is access from many places on the outside of the park. The trails are open to registered and plated vehicles and motorcycles. From what I saw anything that wasnt a ORV trail was pretty clearly marked. There are lots of hiking/biking trails that intersect and run around them. You will run into hikers and mountain bikers along the trails. All were nice in my experience and moved over to let us pass.

Here is a link to the map I used that shows the trails motorized vehicles are allowed on.
file:///C:/Users/user/Downloads/wharton_map_web_version.pdf

We entered off 206 at the park office. Between using a printout of the above map and using google maps on carplay it was pretty easy to figure out where we were going. The main trails are listed on google maps, and you can see most of the off shoot trails in the imaging. Or at least enough to figure out where you were going. Cell phone service is a little spotty in some areas, but google maps didnt seem to have any issue keeping up.
We headed southeast along the river until we got to Batsto. Then we went up the road just north of there and came back up a different trail. We didnt get to go up into the northeast area, would love to explore there next time.

For anyone looking for a little off-roading this weekend in central/south jersey, the rain and cold temps have made for a really fun trip in Jackson. Go down Reed road and just keep driving. Lots of water, mud and ice. LOADS OF FUN TODAY! Didn’t get a chance to get out and take photos but totally worth it

thx for the update. I'm sure a bunch of people would take you up on your offer (myself included).. I have to figure out this weekends plans.. I am trying to avoid any risk of me doing something stupid with the bronco till after I return from some upcoming vacation plans for which she is an integral part. So the idea of doing some light trails as opposed to the PA ORV parks is ideal at the present moment. So far on my Northeast Trail Connections group we had a successful Wharton trip and I would like to keep that groups momentum moving forward.

I just checked and we are up to 3 pages of members and i see this page has 5 so thats not bad. I will put in my plug with this group again that if anyone is interested in actively running trails, either as someone organizing or just joining in the fun - please join up with my other page. There is some talk of going out to PA in march/april and it can be fairly confusing when there are multiple area groups to scan for finding events as you have to cross the regional group boundaries.

@JBMontclair I would also recommend making a MeetUp account too. I try to use that as much as possible just because its easier to track how many people you can expect and you can put in all the details of any events. once I figure out what the plan is for the first week in March I will make sure to update both pages on here and make a MeetUp for it.

last trip I created an event in the other group.. seemed to work - Ive havent used meetup before, but i would consider using that as well in future as not everyone in the trip was a forum member as attendees also brought their jeep friends to the party.

@broncoBlake Near Pax River, also by Dahlrgen VA too. That area. I don't have an issue with travel an hour or 2. I am trying to find something I can get to and back in the same day.

The only ones that I would know of would be up in Fort Valley VA. There are some over on the eastern coast of MD but that also seems pretty far from Dahlrgen.

So last weekend we decided to go into the city (NYC) for the first time in a long while. I valeted at a garage down in chelsea for a couple of hours then did a short drive around with the top folded back to take in the tall buildings.

so overall it was a successful trip but now a week later I happened to look at the valet stub and had a chuckle and wanted to share…

It definitely adds to the experience riding in any convertible. Traffic was typically slow riding the midtown avenues so the cold wasn't too unbearable with the heat jacked up, windows up and seat warmers on max. Back seaters were probably a bit colder. I flipped the top closed as i got to a stop light around washington square park and continued down to the holland tunnel approach. Now if only central park had some ORV trails :(
Is anyone familiar with a off road trails on Harriman state park near Mahwah nj? I bought my bronco from Mahwah Ford and my salesman told me about a trail off of 59 that he used to drive up. I was thinking I’d taking a ride up there this weekend just for fun it’s only about 20 minutes from me. I just can’t find any info searching online. I’m afraid it’s one of those old trails that probably don’t allow off road vehicles anymore.
just thought I’d see if any of you northern nj folk are familiar with it.

Havent heard of it - interested if its still live tho

Yeah I am suspecting its probably not allowed anymore. Kind of like High Mountain here in North Haledon. I hear all the stories of how everyone used to drive their atvs and 4x4s up there back in the day. Now its a monitored trail system only for hiking and bikes.
But I am going to reach out to my salesman and get some more details. He mentioned it when I picked my Bronco up and I was too distracted to inquire more.
Im dying to get the bronco off road and just dont have the time right now to get away to PA or South Jersey.

I'm checking w a buddy of mine but I think it's hiking only. Maybe trails around the area but not legal likely.

Guys, gauging interest in a Rausch Creek trip Saturday, Jan. 29. I am willing to guide and provide some insights and will bring either my stock Bronco Badlands/Sasquatch or, more likely, my Jeep since it has a winch. All green and blue trails, no blacks or reds unless some of you would like to branch off. Goal is a light and easy intro for wheeling your Bronco. Please share your interest level. Thank you.

I wanted to propose first to this group an idea I have been mulling for a little bit regarding creating a new group (or groups) for people who are looking to do an area trail ride.. I am thinking specifically for finding people to go to either Wharton State Park (NJ) or AOAA and Rausch Creak (PA)... This is because I see this group as a necessary resource for local Jersey Broncos to connect with one another at a local level, while from my 3 off road experiences I found myself also reaching out the the PA group and I may also participate in a ride with the Chesapeake group at Rausch in the spring. This necessitates the need to be members of 3 different regional groups.

The proposal I am floating is to either create one group for finding trail riders over an area covering NJ & PA, or separate it out so that RC and AOAA are one group (as they aren't that far from each other) and have Wharton as another. This way we can keep our local groups for local issues and social meetups and stuff and be able to easily reach a larger audience for building an off road group as it is apparent i am willing to drive 2:30hrs to get out to the PA off road parks.

So before I proceed I wanted to see how others feel what is best. Thinking it will serve a similar purpose as the RC Connections facebook page but specifically for B6G members as they are likely to post here first before reaching out to FB. I probably will float this with the other area groups once i see the reaction and ideas for this on this my home group. Do we need a catchy name or something? Can one cover both or should we split up the states?

Calling on all trail riders. I setup an new event on https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/groups/northeast-trail-ride-connections.118/ for riding Wharton State Forest (South Jersey) either Monday (1/17 MLK day) or Sun (1/16). So if interest please stop on by and sign up and add to discussion as to which day so we can make this happen. Thx

*** UPDATE - I have set the ride to be on Sunday (1/16) based on initial responses ***

So I finally connected one of the upfitter switches today. I connected my Xmas wreath up as I originally had the wire going down the inside of the passenger side fender and into the cab to connect with the center consol cig lighter socket but that is always on and was having to disconnect manually. I opted to use weather proof connectors for easy disassembly and kept the lights original cig plug as it had a built in 3A fuse by getting a cig socket off Amazon.
Wire now runs from grill up to front engine bay, across to driver inner fender and down to the aux switch wires . I used aux 1 (yellow) but in future I can quickly swap to another - well once I crimp on connectors to the other wires that is as it’s cold and didn’t see the point in going all the way with that.
