Trying to put together an event in Central Jersey at a dealership to do some food trucks and vendor sales and then maybe a ride down the coast, any interest?

So been posting to this forum for all of 9 days (been just reading bronco6g for much longer)... And it is pretty uncharacteristically quiet here in jersey... I know many are still waiting on delivery, and I felt your pain and I wish I had some magic power to fix that.. Some of us do have them already and probably want something else from this group.. So I guess I want to pose the question, what do we want to get out of this club page?
We can talk about what mods we are, or at least are dreaming of getting.
Or we can talk about where we want to let them run.
How about what to do with that front plate bracket your dealer installed before you can stop them from drilling holes in your paint job (been thinking of getting the bracket to relocate to the bumper - I caution make sure you are ok with the OEM plate placement or contact your dealer to not install when they receive delivery - I think front plates qualifies as a jersey issue).
We can talk about setting up meetups in your relative part of the state?
And I guess if anyone is a poet, I guess you can share that too, but in moderation and as long as its about your bronco.
Any other ideas to get some discussion happening over here?
ook a trip down to Wharton State Forrest with the family. My first time down there, and it was a lot of fun. I took the whole family, wife, 3 kids, and two dogs. It was pretty mellow, I expected a lot more water from videos I watched, but at least the trails we stayed on were bone dry. We started at the ranger station and stayed along Mullica river, exploring some of the off shoot trails along the water all the way down the Batsto. Then we headed back up Goodwater rd to the Quaker bridge and made our way back up. The only water we saw was a nice little mud hole just after leaving the ranger station and a small water crossing coming back up behind Batsto.
I was a little disappointed that we didn’t have more water to go through so I took a few runs through the mud hole by the ranger station, the kids loved that!
Maybe next time I have to explore more the northeast side.
Overall was a blast, a nice chill ride with the family.
It definitely has me thirsty for some more challenging terrain.
For anyone looking for a little off-roading this weekend in central/south jersey, the rain and cold temps have made for a really fun trip in Jackson. Go down Reed road and just keep driving. Lots of water, mud and ice. LOADS OF FUN TODAY! Didn’t get a chance to get out and take photos but totally worth it
So last weekend we decided to go into the city (NYC) for the first time in a long while. I valeted at a garage down in chelsea for a couple of hours then did a short drive around with the top folded back to take in the tall buildings.
so overall it was a successful trip but now a week later I happened to look at the valet stub and had a chuckle and wanted to share…
Is anyone familiar with a off road trails on Harriman state park near Mahwah nj? I bought my bronco from Mahwah Ford and my salesman told me about a trail off of 59 that he used to drive up. I was thinking I’d taking a ride up there this weekend just for fun it’s only about 20 minutes from me. I just can’t find any info searching online. I’m afraid it’s one of those old trails that probably don’t allow off road vehicles anymore.
just thought I’d see if any of you northern nj folk are familiar with it.
Guys, gauging interest in a Rausch Creek trip Saturday, Jan. 29. I am willing to guide and provide some insights and will bring either my stock Bronco Badlands/Sasquatch or, more likely, my Jeep since it has a winch. All green and blue trails, no blacks or reds unless some of you would like to branch off. Goal is a light and easy intro for wheeling your Bronco. Please share your interest level. Thank you.
I wanted to propose first to this group an idea I have been mulling for a little bit regarding creating a new group (or groups) for people who are looking to do an area trail ride.. I am thinking specifically for finding people to go to either Wharton State Park (NJ) or AOAA and Rausch Creak (PA)... This is because I see this group as a necessary resource for local Jersey Broncos to connect with one another at a local level, while from my 3 off road experiences I found myself also reaching out the the PA group and I may also participate in a ride with the Chesapeake group at Rausch in the spring. This necessitates the need to be members of 3 different regional groups.
The proposal I am floating is to either create one group for finding trail riders over an area covering NJ & PA, or separate it out so that RC and AOAA are one group (as they aren't that far from each other) and have Wharton as another. This way we can keep our local groups for local issues and social meetups and stuff and be able to easily reach a larger audience for building an off road group as it is apparent i am willing to drive 2:30hrs to get out to the PA off road parks.
So before I proceed I wanted to see how others feel what is best. Thinking it will serve a similar purpose as the RC Connections facebook page but specifically for B6G members as they are likely to post here first before reaching out to FB. I probably will float this with the other area groups once i see the reaction and ideas for this on this my home group. Do we need a catchy name or something? Can one cover both or should we split up the states?
Calling on all trail riders. I setup an new event on https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/groups/northeast-trail-ride-connections.118/ for riding Wharton State Forest (South Jersey) either Monday (1/17 MLK day) or Sun (1/16). So if interest please stop on by and sign up and add to discussion as to which day so we can make this happen. Thx
*** UPDATE - I have set the ride to be on Sunday (1/16) based on initial responses ***
Anyone interested in going to Wharton State forest in south jersey in a week or two? I haven't been, but I'd really like to do something off road before Christmas.
So I finally connected one of the upfitter switches today. I connected my Xmas wreath up as I originally had the wire going down the inside of the passenger side fender and into the cab to connect with the center consol cig lighter socket but that is always on and was having to disconnect manually. I opted to use weather proof connectors for easy disassembly and kept the lights original cig plug as it had a built in 3A fuse by getting a cig socket off Amazon.
Wire now runs from grill up to front engine bay, across to driver inner fender and down to the aux switch wires . I used aux 1 (yellow) but in future I can quickly swap to another - well once I crimp on connectors to the other wires that is as it’s cold and didn’t see the point in going all the way with that.
