Eventful last few weeks for the bronco.
Finally got to repay the favor and winch out a Toyota from my tracks on the way to the crabcooker hotsprings in Mammoth. As I had experienced in years past on my own rig, ATs are useless in deep snow even though they rock on packed snow. My newer Trail Grapplers excelled.

Made it to Lake Tahoe no problems and enjoyed some skiing. Went out to scope the bottom of rubicon trail, but again the AT's on my brother's Cayenne stopped us before we even made it to a staging point and another recovery began.

Last Tuesday while flat towing west downhill on the"Loneliest Road in America," US50, I see my Bronco out in my side view mirror. My locking hitch pin failed and rattled undone. Luckily the Bronco didn't swing into oncoming traffic as only one safety cable held. Metal bumpers on metal bumpers made for a relatively low damage pit maneuver. Both rigs needs some bumper work but we should be back to flat towing again soon with some more redundant safety measures and more secure pins.

Accident didn't stop our return eastward. Camped next to Capitol Reef national park and took the very scenic South Draw Road 4/10 trail.

Then onto Forrest Gump point in Monument Valley.

Finally a must see for all Texas Offroaders, Merus Adventure Park, where we somehow managed to stay upright on the Huckleberry trail.

Overall grateful to have a working rig and a place to share stories.
