Muffler delete, adding resonator, but where and why

So the wifey is going to do this for me for my birthday next month.
I’m planning to do a muffler delete and adding a vibrant bottle resonator.
I feel like I’ve seen them being added somewhere midway and also basically where the muffler was but going straight out.
Does anyone know what the pros and cons would be for each location?

Curious to see a sound clip when you get the install done (with resonator). I have a MY 25 with the new 2.3, did a MF muffler delete and love the sound! I don’t care for the cold starts, it sounds like a hippo farting through a megaphone but once it calms down it sounds great and isn’t as loud as I’d expected with normal driving.

Good point, didn’t even think about that. I added the DV8 compressor box and love it. Would have been a shame to get denied by a resonator

I would go midway under the vehicle.
I have the AFE Apollo GT High Tuck and that's where the muffler is on it.
And lots of room in the rear if you ever wanted to add anything back there.

I tried this route with two different resonators, both in the mid position. One was an Amazon special the other a flowmaster. I really liked the sound but the drone at 1600 rpm is what made me switch to a cat back.
Also don’t run the exhaust without the muffler too much as you will end up with melted plastic on the bumper.

Are you referring to simply running with no muffler? I went with a muffler delete pipe, can’t remember if it was rough country or flow master but it’s just a pipe that directs the exhaust at the ground. Been on for almost 6 months now zero melting issues
