Had a great day out at Tahuya ORV Park in Washington State. Met up with @ThunderFlash and @ezapar 2 to explore the trails. Tahuya is a mix of tight & twisty trails, large areas of standing water, and some man-made rock features. Continuously impressed by the capabilities of our Broncos
Enjoy the photos:

Sorry about the clumsy footage, lots of trees to avoid while filming sideways and gaining elevation. lol.

You're the man for making it up!

Looks like it changed quite a bit from when I was a kid.

Scott and his trusty steed Fern were definitely the stars of the day in my book. They had a casual saunter up a wet and slippery Yellow Jacket rock garden. I was so impressed! Scott has definitely upgraded Fern from her stock BD configuration, but I believe most of the truck is still largely OEM equipment (SBD, front locker, front axil, MT BB 35", etc.)

We watched a SXS slip, bounce, and flounder it's way up Y.J. before Scott's run. Those dudes were thinking "No way a Bronco is getting up this." They stuck around to watch. I wish I was at the top to hear their comments. And Fern looked FAR more graceful running it than the SXS did. I think Fern's only contact was a rear recovery point.

Well done Scott and it was a great time with the whole crew! When I get my Baja Bosses and Severe Duty rack installed, I'm going to have to give Yellow Jacket a shot.

Thanks Eric- you taught me everything I know! Always a good time out on the trails with you

There is a local volunteer group that puts in a bunch of work to create some neat features - there are several more boat-ramp style features that get much harder and require much more capable vehicles. For example:

Lots of fun Doug! That's a great retelling of the yellow jacket climb- that SXS was hopping all around through the middle section. I'm looking forward to when you guys come back out and run it!

It was just clear cuts and dirt roads when I was out there last in the early 80s, and at the time was known locally as Tahuya Burn as I recall. I was very, very young and my memories are more flashes of image than anything else. I went to high school there in Belfair, and some of the other kids lived out in the Tahuya area, but when we went out to play in the woods by that time, it was mostly up above the Skok valley past Camp Covey or up at Cushman.
