I agree with you on the capable bumper..... I really like some of the others but there is not one I would rather have....

I swapped bumpers after I nudged a tree and the driver side bend in and started to scrap the wheel when turning, was surprised how easy it was to bend back. Felt too flimsy at that point. Since I already had the TOR rock sliders that have tubes I went with a tubular bumper design and seems to match nicely. Just needed to cut out a center piece on the front bumper to fit the same winch mount. Doesn't look as flush as the capable bumper tho

Got lucky and somehow scored a trail deck setup locally for what their intro price used to be.
Or full fridge slide when not.

Oh and also scooped a HF paper towel holder that you see in the pics today too. Not sure why I didn't think of that one sooner. Psyched to try all the new stuff on the DBBB at the end of the month.

How is the paper towel holder mounted? I like that spot to put one up.

Got my new TUFSKIN emblems installed... They turned out perfect... Not overly gaudy, but just enough information.

Beyond scratched knuckles…how difficult was the swap? I’ve had a full set of cloth seat covers and seat back foam to swap my MGV with, I’ve had them for a couple years now. Never got around to it for fear it’s a royal pain in the rear with a kazillion hog rings to replace.
I didn't remove the seat cover from the foam cushion since I bought the combo already attached. There were a few hog rings in the seat bottom (and I would imagine quite a few more for the seat back) but instead of throwing the cover in the washing machine, I left it attached and scrubbed it down with laundry detergent and a brush and hosed it off. I've done a few seat cover removal and reattaching on several vehicles in the past and these didn't look any harder but I'm not sure if there is metal wire inside the foam that they need to attach to or not.

More trip prep with adding the chainsaw mount to my tire carrier. I will absolutely prioritize getting an expedition one rear bumper after this trip so I can get all this weight off the door.

Yeah it sucks having a ton of shit mounted on the outside but a lot of what I have done has come from my first long trip in it with my son. It was just me, him and our pup for 4 days in VA and playing tetris every morning getting all our camping shit in the truck got old FAST. Especially since we always camp at a different location every night on these bigger trips. Tent, bedding, axes/shovels, water supply, ez up, firewood etc was awful and I didn't even bring the chainsaw on that one since my buddy had one. I had the two back seats folded down with only his seat up in the back and the pup sat in the front seat. Shit kept falling on him too on the harder trails. Not to mention morning pack ups were 1-2 hours minimum being it just being me doing packing/making him breakfast etc.

Now bedding stays up in the tent, no need for an ez up with the 270, tools are split between inside and outside, water supply and fuel is on the outside, and I don't need to smell the fumes of a freshly run chainsaw in the cabin.
