New Filson Edition Bronco Coming Early 2027

See you get it and Ford has been hearing this at car shows and in feedback.

Higher end materials and higher end segment. Don't want the Raptor and don't want the loaded out Badlands and want the weekend adventurer for the once in a while national park or beach.

This is Outer Banks on steroids.

And they would sell a lot more Broncos if they'd:

1. Fixed Roof
2. Sunroof/Moonroof panel option where you have a 1 piece for the front seats vs 2 pieces or just a 1 piece whole front/back passenger.

I will never use mine for off roading for the sake of off roading. Beach, yes. Hunting leases with occasionally washed out roads, yes. There's nothing wrong with just owning a cool car because it's cool. I also would buy a 68' Corvette if I had the funds, but it wouldn't be to race it at the track.

I agree. I just don't understand the HATE from people who judge others for what they buy.

People buy Corvettes, Hellcats, Mustangs, especially Roushes, GT500s, etc, that will never see a track or ever get pushed to near the limits of what those vehicles are capable of. So what? It's their money and they can spend it how they wish. You don't have to be driving triple digit speeds or entering ramps at 1.0g to appreciate the vehicle's capability.

I used to own a couple of Land Cruisers ('98 & '04). Those vehicles never went on anything worse than a dirt road. My kids played travel hockey during that time, and those vehicles got me to tournaments all over the country and Canada. Through many bad snowstorms and also towed my 21 ft boat I had at the time.

My CTS-V and Roush Mustang have been on a track a few times, but I'm pretty much over that now, however I still enjoy them even if they'll ever reach triple digit speeds anymore. I can still appreciate their capabilities, even if I'm not going to exploit those capabilities to the limits.

My Bronco replaced a 2012 BMW X5. I wanted something a bit more rugged since we have started camping and spending time up in Northern Michigan. Living in the Midwest, I'm not going to be doing any extreme rock crawling or desert running, but I will and have taken it on some trails and forest roads, and I'm sure I'll get caught in some nasty snowstorms. I'm glad I have a vehicle that gives me the best chance of getting through those situations safely, even though I'll rarely, if ever, exploit its capabilities to its limits.

Why should that bother anyone? It's my money.

Just saw that and YEP that would be a big big upgrade for a higher end feature.

This being discovered right before the reveal makes me think this is going to be part of this version and how the price creeps up to 'luxury' and you get that.

Because, these things are intended for one thing, and one thing only. If you are not on the approved agenda, you are both WRONG and a poser. What's that one thing and one thing only? Depends on what the person you're talking with does with theirs. All other answers are incorrect.

I had a pair of Filson waxed cotton overalls in the 90s during my AK years that were pretty great. Only problem was you couldn’t wash them. You just wiped the dirty bits off with a damp cloth and touched up the wax on occasion. I wore them working at a remote fishing lodge one summer. They eventually smelled like a campfire permanently.

Filson was known for making rugged and reasonably water-resistant clothing that you could wear and walk through a thicket without tearing them to shreds. Old tech but forestry/logger types were fond of them long after Gore-Tex was around because they could take the abuse and last for years. It was once a great brand for sporting men and working men alike. Times have changed.

This fender badge actually looks decent. I could see the people who don't like the bronco script getting custom versions like this done that say things like BRONCO --Badlands-- or such.

My prediction is it will be aesthetically quite nice, functionally a nothing-burger, and wildly over-priced. But I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

I'm looking forward to the collaborative accessories. Most will be "sold out" before becoming available to the public. People will end up buying via secondary markets. We've seen the jacket and the green duffel.
