My local dealer charges me $25 to rotate the tires and they actually use a torque wrench which, admittedly, blew my mind. I still check when I get home but so far so good.

OP’s method:
  • Move Bronco to level surface, so it’s somewhat stable when set on jack stands. In OP’s case it blocks the driveway and the side walk.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to rear at the end of the drive way, lift rear, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Move jack to front, lift front, place on jack stands.
  • Lower, check stability, re-adjust jack stands if needed.
  • Remove rear wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Remove front wheels/tires mark with chalk so you don’t forget which one goes where.
  • Install spare on right rear, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front right tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Install front left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lift jack at front, remove jack stands, lower and torque front wheels.
  • Install rear left tire, hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Move jack to rear of vehicle, lift and remove jack stands, lower and torque rear wheels.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move the 4 jack stands back to storage
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Move Bronco back into drive way.
  • Optional - Explain to neighborhood kids that a vehicle on jack stands is not stable and not to play around it.
  • Optional - explain to police, neighbors, etc. that you’ll only be blocking the side walk for a few more minutes and you’re sorry that Auntie Aolani has to take her walker to the other side of the street for her evening walk.
  • Optional – Explain to the wife that she can’t park in the driveway after work and she’ll need to park on the street with 9 bags of groceries. And, you’d help her carry them in but can’t leave the Bronco unattended while it’s on jack stands.
Optional method
  • Leave the Bronco where it is- since it will always have at least 3 wheels/tires in place.
  • Remove spare.
  • Move jack to right rear, lift right rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to right front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left rear, lift left rear, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Move jack to left front, lift front, remove/replace wheel /tire hand tighten lug nuts.
  • Lower jack, torque lug nuts.
  • Replace the spare and torque.
  • Re-torque all wheels.
  • Move jack back to storage.
  • Optional – show one of your children, who is ready to get their license, how to change a tire.
  • Optional – Say Aloha to Auntie Aolani as she takes her evening walk.
  • Optional – stop what you’re doing at points 1 thru 13 and help the wife with the groceries.

From a Lean Manufacturing standpoint the OP's method involves more movement, risk, and effort.
Brah, small boto syndrome?

sooo, you have a spare, so lift one wheel at a time replace with spare, lower, lift next, replace with wheel you just took off, repeat, no need to remove all wheels at the same time.

Right?! that how I do it, it take like an hour maybe.. Now with my wife and her AWD atlas... that's me.

Why not just "work smarter" and get a hydraulic lift installed in your home? 😄😄

Rotate your tires however makes you happy, just do it and do it safely. I use a flat shovel to lift the tire and guide it onto the studs.61 total knee replacement 6 weeks ago. Did an oil change and tire rotation a month ago, hate to even tell you how long it took, but it solved my boredom for a morning!

I do all my own Maintenance, except rotating the tires. My local tire guy does it for free if you purchase tires from him. That's the safest, fastest, most economical way to get it done. Plus I get to shoot the bull and drink coffee with a bunch of old timers who hang out at the shop.

Just did a 5 tire rotation last week. I'm with team one at a time. Roll jack around 4 times instead of 3, I'm okay with that. Spare is a pain but doable with proper technique.

having done tire rotations one an 8-lugger most of my life, without an impact gun. the bronco is nothing. I still prefer to do this myself cuz I can take a look at things and see if anything looks off. check brakes, remark the lugs (I use the vibratite bolt marker stuff), take a full look at the coilovers, et cetera.

Well, it boils down to if you are using the opportunity as an exercise and therapy session.
Some of us just flat out don't want to do it ourselves, and some thrive to meet the challenge. It goes beyond time and money, and we find what makes us happy. Like owning and driving a Bronco......even to the mailbox! The Lego effect, such as the customization that is mind boggling, is what we seem to thrive on. I admit I go one wheel at a time and stopped using the air gun. I do however use the long breaker bar. I'm guilty of looking for a reason to do SOMETHING to the pony in the barn, everyday. Its my new and improved hobby. My Tacoma is lonely now.......

Well thats the hard way to do a five tire rotation. Whats with the jackstands? Mine get done as part of an oil change.
