Hi,

Being as the Bronco is the first vehicle I've owned that has 5 tires available for rotation I just wanted to get some validation / guidance.

Since 2H is essentially RWD would the Rearward Cross as illustrated be the accepted rotation scheme to use?

Do you guys do anything special to keep track of where the "original" spare tire is on the vehicle?

Thanks!

I wonder if Ford dealer will charge double to rotate heavy 100lbs+ SAS tires.

It reality it does not matter, just do the same one every time.

My thoughts is the Bronco, same as a Jeep, is one of those vehicles where you should do the work yourself. 'Course I'm the guy that parks by the stock jeep just to let them know what they should be doing (not verbal, just a visual example).

with my Jeep...

Only rotated my spare, from sun fade. (Stayed where it is, only rotated the orientation of it in the tire carrier) Only did the 4 on the ground.

this kept the spare looking new...

Rearward cross is the way to go. Start with the passenger rear and work your way through the arrows and you only have to jack-up each tire once and no jack stands are needed (uh oh, safety alert!). No need to keep track of which tire was the original spare either.

Paint the wheels differently.
While you're being cheeky, it's actually not bad advice. On my old Jeep and Broncos I painted the inside tire wall (axle facing side) with a different color dot in numeration.

FD 0
FP 00
RD 000
RP 0000
Sp 00000

I used a RWD rotation and just kept track by writing the number and color in the maintenance log when I did it.

I let my mechanic do it, figure he's got his own way.

The correct answer is G. Less complicated than F.
And YES YES YES, you do need to rotate that 5th tire, your tires will last 20% longer that way. Do the math.
