Is there ANY Bronco sunshade that is not a pain in the ass to keep under the hard top.

This was trivial with a Spiderwebshade on my Wrangler, undo a couple of bungees, put the panels back on, redo the bungees, done.

Each and every video I have watched for the Bronco is far more involved. What gives? Seems that the $40 Chinazon ones are the best in that respect QUOTE="GroovyGeek, post: 2825881, member: 50612"]

Has anyone installed the “Alien Sunshade” sold on Amazon? They’re supposed to be left in place when you put the roof panels back on. I’m thinking of purchasing one of these for my Sasquatch OBX. It’s just under $200.

Don’t diss the jtops. Sure, it uses Velcro. But it’s commercial commercial-grade adhesive Velcro system to anchor the shade to the Bronco’s roll cage. Proper installation requires removing all panels and the larger back tailgate piece, cleaning the bars, applying an adhesion promoter, and letting the Velcro strips cure for 24 hours to ensure secure long lasting hold. No bungee cords to deal with…or gaps to let the sun in. Or flaps to make noise. Zippers sewn in allow access to the panel levers to take them on /off easily. Once you install it, you don’t have to mess with it again except for two easy hooks by the front windshield.

Yup, it’s pricy. But it checked all of my boxes and I’ve been very pleased.

My Jtops is still off gassing strong VOCs after laying outside for two weeks. Won't install it untill the horrid and harmful chemical stench is gone. I may have to toss it out. Yet another aftermarket disappointment.

Yes, just installed the newer version of it on girlfriend's new Bronco. Had one on the '23, easy to install, don't have to remove the very back portion of the top to do it, tight, zero flapping. You just have to remove the front corner bungee's where the hard top clips in. Once the top is locked in, I just wrap the bungee around the lever and it's back in place out of the way, no need to fold back. The two center hooks are just there, barely notice them.

I got mine off ebay. Bought for $52.00, new in box. Seller just had another one up for auction over the weekend, I posted the listing earlier in this thread, sold for $56.00

I remove my mesh top because I can’t use the hard top removal contraption if it remains in place. I acquired the mesh top with the Bronco icon. It uses the Velcro to hold the sides. The original Velcro was lousy so I purchsed a better quality and it works way better. I also installed a couple of strategically placed grommets to decrease the pressure on the Velcro. I have found that NONE of the mesh or solid shade tops are particularly well throughout. BTW, Ford points were used to buy this top. The cost is rather heavy with the “ Bronco tax”.

I have the Rough Country shade, not expensive and seems durable, I pulled the straps as hard as possible during install to see if it would tear as it was easy to send back (Amazon) but its held up well so far and doesn't flap at all at highway speeds. Soft top closes with no issues, you have to release two straps in the front to lock down the hardtop panels but there is access holes in the shade so you can reach the panel locks.

Thanks, I’ll see if it is still available. But at that price and your positivity of the product it will surely be snapped up by some other Bronco owner. My son and I are planning on going to the Ocean City Bronco Beach bash this year and plan on removing the doors, installing the tube doors, and removing the roof panels. Top stays on, doors will stay in the hotel room.
Alien sunshade, normally $200 on Amazon

I bought this a couple weeks back, total was $52.00 after tax. They must just list 1 by 1 hoping to get a bidding war going. 7 hours left
I’m going to

Interesting...you get the solid JTop material or the open mesh? I have the JTops Mesh, no issues at all. Put it on, replaced all top sections. Didn't notice an off-gassing beyond the Bronco's leather / plastic smell.

This is Mike with JTops. We have used the same US mesh manufacturer (Twitchell) for 14 years and this is the first time anyone has mentioned a chemical stench being given off .
What was your order number and I will look into this.

LOL that what everyone says when want to allocate problem origin to the other party.

Just post the MDS and mesh mfg MDS disclosure. Transparency is integrity.

You can send me a new one made from polyester ior nylon f you want...DM me. Maybe its just the tan color. Worth sniffing the various colors.

What was supposed to ship in days took 3-4 weeks to ship in first place.

No SDS or other composition disclosure forthcoming? This tells a story in itself.

Twitchell states their forte is PVC coated fabrics... so it's the PVC that's VOC toxic off gassing sickening stench. This should never be sold as something that can be left on under the top without SDS disclosure.

Im gonna throw it in the garbage exactly where it belongs. Another waste of money on crap aftermarket junk.

Offer it to group… I’m sure someone would buy it. JTops are desired by many.

If tossing it in garbage, post a pic!
Someone would take it for cost of postage.

I’d pay shipping for it.

I have a Jtops, and unfortunately the extra layer on a 4 door center panel bracket caused me some issues and bit of a gap in weather stripping sealing along the sides of the vehicle / center rise between back of front panels and front of rear panel. I have attempted to adjust the top many times and now just live with it…in my case that extra layer under the bracket threw things off. Hopefully others are not having this issue. Otherwise I like the jtops overall.
