What Did It Feel Like When You First Got Your Bronco?

Getting my Bronco was preceded by ~2 decades of watching Ford start & cancel a few Bronco programs like U260, U297, UP499 - all were victims of the “Crossover Depression” in the auto industry. So I was really excited to hear U725 actually survived long enough to Job1. I still had to wait 2 more years to get mine.

I took mine off-road 9 days after delivery to Santiago Peak trail in SoCal. It wasn’t a challenging trail, but redecorated my shiny new Bronco with lots of dirt and pinstripes. Very satisfying!

Was excited. My last Bronco was a ‘83 full size. Was almost finished restoring it when i got T-boned. Guy ran a red light at a intersection. Bought a Ram truck and a camper to tug around.

Had been watching Broncos when they came out but sticker shock always scared me off.

I’m on Military retirement income and was not going back to work again to afford one.

Fast forward. I sold a Vw I restored for some good cash and decided to go looking again. Found this one in Kentucky new on the lot.

I was excited to drive for the first time. I ended up putting a large down payment so my note would be affordable. The wife was pissed thinks it’s a waste of money and a money pit . Not a fan

i’ve had it for 13 months now and have 40k miles on it. Drive it all the time on trips and out in the mountains near the house. I go driving to nowhere just to be driving it. Love it.

Debt. It felt like debt. I paid off my Mustang in 2013 and hadn't had a car payment in over 10 years. I don't regret it, but I'll be happy when it's paid off.

It took two days for them to slap the smile off my face. I had 1982 bronco I fell in love again.

I sell them for a living and kept telling myself I didn't need one all the while telling customers why they did and how great they were. Which they definitely are. I bought my 23 wildtrak for my 60th birthday present to myself. Best Birthday ever. I had it on the beach the next day. I also had a living room full of boxes weeks before it arrived. Still smile every time I get in it.

That's very awesome! Sounds like you spent so much time convincing other people to buy one that eventually you had to convince yourself too lol.

It made me want to wear my big hat. I reserved a month after the reservation opened. I didn’t order until a year later. It was just under six months from actual order date to build date. In fact my build date was moved up three weeks. It was in my garage seven days after being built. I always wanted a first gen Bronco. I am extremely pleased with this generation. Long live the two door Bronco!

That pumpkin-colored Bronco is a total head-turner!
