I know tires have been talked about thousands of times, and I have read just about all the threads. I just purchased a badlands sasquatch 4 door. I live on a farm in Southwest Virginia. Our driveway is a mile long gravel road. These Goodyear Territory RT that came on it are throwing out so many small rocks even with mud flaps I am still hearing the rocks hit the vehicle once I am on the highway.
Any tire recommendations from those who drive on a gravel road a lot? I am leaning toward falken wildpeak at4 but still hesitant to pull the trigger on $2,000 to replace brand new tires.

Thanks!

All tires are going to throw rocks. You'll never prevent it by dumping money into tires or even mud flaps. My truck has Micheline Defenders on it (road tires) and it still throws rocks like crazy. I just did my yearly touch up and had 2 dozen or so chips to touch up.

What you need is paint protection film (PPF). Putting the money into that will actually solve the problem. You can get just the lower doors done (a few hundred bucks), or the entire vehicle (a few thousand bucks), or whatever you want to do.

I've got hundreds of miles of high speed gravel road travel and heard plenty of BIG hits, and my PPF has 100% prevented all paint damage.

Those GY's are the gatlin guns of off roading. So glad when I got rid of mine.

I went to Maxxis Razr M/T's, which are probably more aggressive than you want (they'd throw like real rocks if they did at all, the voids are pretty big). So not sure about the tire. However, you might consider some steps or a rock rail that covers it too. I got the SFR rock rails and they pretty much stop everything anyway. The full IAG steps could help if you have the Trail Armor rock rails.

Thanks everyone. I will probably look into the PPF. Every time I hear a "ding" going down the road I curse LOL.

You own a bronco, you dont have to stick to the road.
Farm field fence is on both sides of the road. No grass. I guess I could go in with the cattle and have cow crap instead of rock since that washes off. LOL

I feel ya. Xpel PPF is considered the best. It has a 10 year warranty and also self heals damage. You just park it in the sun for a few hours. Light damage will go away entirely, serious damage will get dramatically better. The paint underneath will be pristine.

I had my entire rig wrapped. Cost about $5,000. But I am particularly OCD, hah. More judicious application will be much less expensive. Shops charge based more on how difficult the prep is and how difficult the wrap is to apply than how much you get done. How much they have to disassemble the vehicle, how complex the panel shape is, etc.

Ask around a couple shops for quotes on what you'd like to get done. Xpel has a list of installers on their webpage you can consult.

It’s mostly hitting the underside and wheel wells. Mine throw lots of rocks. No mud flaps or paint chips.

My driveway is about 3/4 mile dirt gravel road. the GY throw rocks but they also hold them for a long time and send a rock flying several miles after you made it to pavement. They do calm down once you get some miles on them. my BFG K03s throw more rocks than the GY but they don't hold on to them for quite as long usually about a 1/4 mile after hitting pavement. I just live with the chips, it builds character.

Yes! The main issue is once I am on the 4 lane paved road they throw the rocks for miles. I do about 5mph on the gravel so it isnt hitting then.

Going from the OEM AT KO2s to Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs was night and day for rock throws. Went from every single time for the first 15 minutes of a commute down to an occurrence a month or so, and I have a gravel driveway.

Might be cheaper to pave the driveway. It’s only a mile long.
