Hoping for a solution here. I finally had the time this long weekend to install the S8 bar on the TrailRax. Hooked it up, worked amazing. The next day I wanted to see day light brightness, flicked it on in the morning and the bar started flickering. Unfortunately, I found that there was condensation in the bar from rain vernight:
Not good. I've taken the bar off, took it apart, and of course found plenty of water in the housing. What was weird to me was that it appears there is paint in the housing - even fingerprints on the reflective back-wall (not sure what they're called) - meaning that the light was never sealed from the factory? Or is this residue from the light being turned on while wet? Either way, all I did was take the bar out of the box and install it. I never took it apart until I saw the flickering and water in the housing.
Its on all the reflective back-walls, and even some of the front parts as you can see from above and below:
So looking for advice:
1. I plan to let the bar and everything dry out for a couple days. What are my chances of it working again, if fully dry?
2. If #1 works - how do I seal it correctly? The gaskets look fine to me but if there's a way to correctly clean them , I'm all ears. Should I use some silicone?
3. Is this something that would be covered under warranty? My best guess is that the faceplate was not screwed on tightly enough, or the gasket was not plumb. I bought it from @4x4TruckLEDs.com but am uncertain if I need to go directly to @Baja Designs ?
Hopefully #1 and #2 do the trick. Thanks in advance for any help!
