I would doubt there’s been much thought from Ford about accomodating Filson buyers who might want to put 37s on. And ditto, I’m quite sure they’re not interested in ‘matching the stance’ of the Raptor. Both are considerations that aren’t important to the market demo that they’re going after here, which = lux buyers (who are currently looking at a Rover or Grenadier or Lexus). Those people aren’t interested in upgrades post purchase, they want it all in one shot, drive home, done. What do these buyers want? Drastically upscaled interiors and a potent engine. Done.
The 3.0 really is a potent engine, for a 2018 engine its surprising that we haven't seen a high-output version of this, other than the hybrid. A general look on the internet shows a whopping nothing, just one guy one youtube bragging about 450 horses he got for changing his intake and something else.

Upgrade the h-frame from aluminum to CGI, upgrade heads to steal, beefier cams, upgraded injectors, just nothing out there. Its kind of like the Honda F20C, you could add a bunch it was just really hard to get more power from it.

This engine should be able to take a lot of power, not as much as the 3.5 with its reinforced block.
~700ish RWHP is basically the limits for both engines (stock long block)

Hilarious, they must not be expecting much of a turnout here in Phoenix ….the event address is a tiny strip mall with like 10-15 parking spots….Nice 😬
Haha, same with the LA location. Absolutely terrible parking on a very busy main drag of the city.

I’m guessing Filson brand carriers are very small shops…..must be, honestly I grew up camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, logging etc and I never heard of Filson until this Bronco edition. I’ll be waiting until they hit the dealers I guess.

I’m sure these events are designed to create PR buzz as much as actually reach potential buyers, so they’re going to intentionally be small, crowded, and scaled to make for good photos for Ford’s social media. Filson doesn’t have big stand-alone retail stores, but is much more a high-end boutique brand. It all tracks. This trim is Orvis, not Bass Pro Shops.

75k is alot for a bronco..
Nice distillation of why Ford is making this model. Exactly the thinking that this trim is setting out to erase.

(PS: Land Rover Defender starts around $65K, Sport $80K, Ineos begins at $78K, the Lexus Land Cruiser almost $90K.)

Got to quantify it somehow, any price especially in this market is a lot for any vehicle. My first brand new car was a 4door coupe sedan for 11k, a car of almost the exact same caliber runs around 20k.

This is (I'm guessing) a one-off trim and those usually come with a small premium. The Filson will be the first to include the 3.0 outside of the excelusive Raptor model and contain every feature you could get outside of the BRaptor. Its styled to be more muted and the interior looks to be upscaled quite a bit.

For comparison my Badlands cost very roughly 70k, 5k more for the superior engine and upscaled interior plus a color pallet I like more. It doesn't hurt it will probably be a limited edition model and I have a thing for those, I have a Mache E California Route 1.

I'd argue that it is not an unreasonable amount at all. As @HalfmuleFarmer pointed out, that is the market price these days for rugged, capable off road vehicles. G-wagons can be put up for sale at a quarter of a million dollars. You could buy matching Filson Broncos for yourself, the trophy wife, and your son Biff. Stroppe and top spec BL Broncos sell at this price, too.

The Filson is probably not for me, but it almost seems like a bargain for exclusivity, a 3.0L, and a few other lux bits. And it all comes wrapped in an awesome vehicle that is anything labeled Bronco.

A Filson would have been an easier sell for my wife, although out of my price range new. My used Wildtrak with high package was still an effort. She really wanted me to get a Discovery, but I kept explaining that it was money pit.

I think there is a solid market for these. It may be my next trade in 5 years or so, unless there is an EV version.
