I let a friend drive my 22 Badlands and he totaled it so when this new one gets here in a few weeks, I believe I'll be the only driver.

My wife was less patient. She drove it once within a few days. Has not driven it since.

I would guess that I will have a hard time driving myself in about 30 years... so I will let someone else drive me around in my bronco when that time comes.... NOT kidding.

Mine was the reverse as it is her Bronco. I think I drove it after a month or so. I like the driving experience of cars vs. trucks so it wasn't a big deal. I only have driven it twice without "supervision" and that was to take it to/from an oil change.
Ah, I see you are a connoisseur of vintage forum threads. 2022 was a fine year, well chosen. 🍷

My wife gets to drive the new Bronco as soon as she can promise, with a straight face, not to touch the GOAT mode dial. She has failed this test 3 times now.

I should have looked but I just(Monday, June 9th, 2025) received a weekly email
Last Week's Most Popular New Topics
from the forum and that was on it.

Maybe vintage topics should be closed out, but then again somebody would just open the same topic now. Sometimes historical perspective is interesting and other times it is outdated.

As a "Janey Come Lately" via my wife buying her Bronco last fall I missed lots of the early drama and kvetching.

As for 2022 being a fine automotive year I believe was dealing with VW diesel emissions problems of my Jetta wagon I bought post dieselgate. I liked the driving and the layout and hoped that a gas VW wagon would have less issues. So wrong I was.

I’m pretty new here myself. I just find it funny when people unknowingly reply to old posts in forums. I’ve done it .

I let my teenage son drive it in an empty parking lot soon after taking delivery. It's a 7-speed manual so we kept in crawler gear the whole time.

Teaching your son and even more importantly your daughter manual is AWESOME. A girl that can drive manual can put most teenaged males in their place. Shooting/hunting is another way to give a girl a secret advantage.

My future wife could drive manual when I met her in college and that immediately elevated her in my mind. Neither of us were gun people, but we acquired that love together especially sport clays.

Bought mine Thursday afternoon and let my wife drive on a 6 hour (round trip) road trip.

She can't handle my driving. 'Too fast'. So She just prefers to drive 100% of the time when we go out together.

I wouldn't let anyone else drive it though.

My wife has become the faster driver, but I am more aggressive with lane changes in traffic. Different styles.
Generally who drives depends on which car we take. If we take "her" car which is the Bronco she will drive most of the time while any other I will likely drive.
I think if I had an acquaintance who could drive manual transmission I would let them drive my vehicle. I would hope that the favor would be returned at some point. We buy reliable vehicles where a single drive isn't going to result in mechanical damage.

I let my sister drive my 2021 to the sight and sound theater in PA. That was the first AND LAST time! She scared the hell outta me, my daughter, and our mother!

I leave the FOB right in it--anyone who wants to take a spin feel free
It says you are Northern Maine which is devoid of people. I doubt the Moose can fit inside to take it for a spin.
