Rear facing Baja S1 install on roof rack

Sorry if there’s something like this already, but I’m pretty new to all this

My friends gave me a pair of their old S1s and I’d like to mount them to the back on my Trailrax rack. I have a 24 4dr Wildtrak.

I’d like to run em off my aux switch so I’m wondering what the best way to do this is? I’ve been looking online and seeing lots of different ways so wanted to get thoughts from real people.

Welcome! Since your Wildtrak already has the factory aux switches, I’d just wire the S1s directly to one of those circuits. Run the wiring cleanly along the TrailRax rack, use weatherproof connections, and match the fuse to the light’s draw. It’s a simple setup and gives you full control of the lights whenever you need them.

I used one of the mount bolts next to the windshield as a groind, just make sure not to tighten them too much. They’re notorious for stripping.
I used these mounts for running the wires along the trailrax crossbars. They work really well but are stupid expensive. Instead look at the measurements they list and do some research. Other places sell the same thing for much cheaper.

If you wrap the wires in this loom right here, they’ll be hard to see and you can squeeze this between the top of the crossbars and the right angle bend at the top of the roof rack

finally, it’s a good idea to have quick disconnects not just with the lights but also right where the wires are first mounted to the roof rack. This will allow you to remove the roof rack without having to cut wires if you ever need to do that (for example replacing the cracked roof panels) I really like deutsch connectors

The cleanest way to wire your S1s to the factory aux switches on your 2024 Wildtrak is to use a wiring harness that connects directly to the Bronco's pre-run engine bay wires. Since S1s draw very little power, you can use any of the low-amperage 10A switches

I just did this! I ran the wires forward along my roof rack and into the cabin by the passenger roof rack mount. Went through the firewall and across the engine bay to the Aux wires. I made a bracket for the light. I’m actually now wanting a second one (S1) to out in the other side. I’m using the Scene/ work lens and it’s great. Leitner has great wire covers!

The easiest way is with this

You'll then need extensions for this.... 2 might work

THose are 10' each. Then you'll want the upfitter harness

So basically the splitter harness plugs into both lights, the extensions plug into that harness (and into each other) and finally the upfitter harness plugs into the extensions and you crimp that onto your upfitter switch under the hood.

There's a upfitter dead end run inside the passenger side rear side panel. Don't recall exactly, but I think you connect the front end behind the glove box. This'll save you running new wires all the way to the engine compartment. Outfitter wiring diagram, including the dead end runs may be in your owners manual, Ford stopped including it's at some point, might have been in 24. If it's not there Google search for it.

What is your intended use for the lights?

If they are meant to be camp lights, I'd put them on a constant-powered switch rather than the upfitters. That way you can use them with the ignition off.

If for blinding tailgaiters, carry on with the upfitter connection.
