i think you meant LESS protection from road and trail debris. Now rubbing up on a tree, maybe more protection, if the fender can transfer that weight without denting.

I rubbed a wall on an obstacle once and it broke the plastic flare in two. I was able to JB Weld it together and literally looks fine, nobody can tell. Metal? At best replace, at worst it bends up the fender too. I'll stick with the plastic ones.

What I'd really like to see is an easy on/off solution for this, so that I can restore the Tire-width Fender Flares (some states require full coverage) for daily usage. Call is a 'Weekender'? I didn't look at the web site - are these fairly easy to remove/replace?

Oh man, if the tube was rolled/radius instead of being bent, I'd be all over those.

I think thats what it is that looks off to me. Doesnt follow the body lines.

I think the 2 and 4 dr standard flares are the same so I assume they would work.
