Just curious, how many times a month do you usually get to go off-roading, and for how long?

It feels like everyone is out wheeling all the time. Are you guys mostly doing weekend day trips, or actually finding time during the week? How do you manage to fit it into your schedule?

I typically do one big trip over the summer and multiple weekend trips in the fall/winter as time & weather permits. (Spring is usually off-limits due to kids' sports.)

This year the big trip was impacted by the Canadian wildfires and ultimately didn't happen. So... haven't actually gone anywhere since ski season ended. 😟

Once a month or so. I’m less than an hour from a lot of desert trails, and 2 hours from forest roads.
Admittedly most of it is 2WD stuff. Once or twice a year harder trails, but it’s my daily driver, so nothing crazy.

For the last two months I’ve wheeled every weekend and for a solid week during Bronco safari. I live in the middle of some of the best rock crawling trails in the country, from my house I can be on the trail in less than:10 minutes.

Jealous! I’m about 45 min out which isn’t bad, but I’d love to be able to be on dirt in the amount of time it takes to brew some coffee shoot!
Looks at neighbor's front yard and pool in backyard. :devilish:

Do you drive your Bronco in either of those though? If you do that’s either one cool ass neighbor or you got some serious beef with them 😂

My sister had some friends in high school that kept doing midnight burnouts down our street and a few times they run up through the front yards, leaving big skid marks in the lawn. That all ended when one of the dudes lost control and fishtailed his 'Stang into a brick mailbox. You ain't seen nuthin' until you seen your old man running down the street in his tighty whities yelling at some kid in the middle of the night.

I myself almost took out a brick mailbox in my 82 F-250 Super Beast 4x4. That can happen when the master cylinder leaks and you gotta refill it every three days. Corners, amiright??? 😅

But no, never off roaded in my neighbors yard, at least that anyone can prove in a court of law. 💯

I get out a couple times a month. Depending on the time of year. I’m in a couple of FB off-roading groups. I can join like minded people there to go along with. All the BLM trails in Colorado helps The cause!

Once or twice a month. Usually one time camping, one time just driving. Trails are 15 minutes away, which is awesome. Just need the summer heat and dust clouds to go away. I can’t wait for autumn leaves!

A couple of times a week since most of the platted roads in the county are at best 2 tracks suitable for atv, utv, dirt bikes, and exploring those is my main entertainment.
Nothing real serious. Rarely get a wheel in the air and only minor scrapes front and rear. Haven't tried the turn assist or lockers yet.

Once or twice a month if time allows. Less in the winter.

When on vacation we always find a spot to go that's en route or near the destination.

I have several other hobby cars and multiple car interests not related to Bronco off-roading so I would be off-road more if my attention weren't split.

I like my fast cars too and my truck.

In the 18 months I've had my Bronco, I've:
  • Been to Moab 2 times (3 day weekend each time)
  • Wheeled on several weekend getaways (summer/fall at ski resorts)
  • Wheeled a dozen times or so on trails around my local area.
So, about once a month.

All of those trips include "real" off roading (nothing extremely technical, but things you need a high clearance 4x4 and 4LO for), not just dirt roads. I travel on just dirt roads weekly.
