My Bronco is listed as a "SPORT WAGON" on my insurance, but on the insurance card the "wagon" part drops of so it's listed as a BRONCO SPORT. Took me a while to figure out that they weren't insuring the wrong Ford model.

Yes, but the cool wagons had dual-action tail/swing gates - with a roll down rear window.

My family had one of those big woody Ford LTD wagons, although I was young and don’t remember the tailgate function. I just remember it seemed huge, like a rolling fortress. It was eventually replaced with a Caprice Classic wagon with a rear facing jump seat. We loved to sit back there and make faces at the drivers behind us.

My parents had a 1973 Plymouth Satellite Custom wagon that had the same dual-action tailgate. Like this but without the wood paneling:

We called it the “green monster”. I don’t think it had the jump seat. I was just a toddler but I do remember the cool tailgate and sitting in the cargo area with my brother reading a stack of comic books on family roadtrips. No restraints or anything,

It’s a Bronco and only a Bronco. That other thing my wife drives is a Sport. You can call that a crossover/suv all days long.
