I like it ... Any thoughts on how this impacts front impact deployment of the air bags? I know with the Ford Winch kit they state recalibration of the Restraint Control Module is required to compensate for the changes in crash characteristics.

I would guess there will be NO REPLY from @Hooke Road® on this.

Most off-road fabricators put no attention into how their mods affect the electronic sensors and dependent systems or engineering limits on our vehicles. They are here to sell their wild ideas. And then put a warranty disclaimer and liability disclaimer slip in the product packaging, or some obscure "terms and conditions" reference on the web site.

Also expect some bonehead to make claims you shouldn't care about OEM crash impulse values, front axle loading, frame attachment, structural deformation load paths, sensor placement calibrations, etc. After all, they're here for the self-validation and not to convey discerning information.

There are over 50 variables and 12 sensors that go into the whole airbag, deceleration, impact angle tire braking response, steering adjustment, and other sensor driven algorithms that determine crash response. Not just the airbags. All in approx 30 milliseconds.

Smartest move. Only mount your winch and plate when you are actually off-roading. Ideally, when you get off the roadway and you're in-country.

This is my mount. I have pulled (2X) and been pulled (1X) using the @Maximus-3 mount. Works for me. The winch goes in the back when I leave home and put on at the trail head. No real concerns about a front-end crash while rock crawling (under-carriage scrapes and roll-over - that's a different story).

I'm not a whooper, so that is a different consideration. If I was, my initial concern would be the intercooler, unsprung weight, and suspension tuning. Maybe an additional seat cushion. That's a different type of adrenaline flow.
