This was a couple of weekends ago. Spent a couple of nights at Campo Alto Campground in Los Padres National Forest. Really nice, high(ish) altitude campground that let us get away from the SoCal heat. Campsites are well spread out, so pretty good privacy.

No offroading this time, but did get to test the 12v fridge, Bluetti and solar panel setup for the first time (worked well). And our tents had a visit from some very curious deer both nights - which I suppose is better than a visit from a bear...

P.S. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out the ethnic specialty in the last picture.

Plan to finish up Dashcam install today. Ran out of room for micro3 fusetaps. Hope Littelfuse or Bussman make some to purchase locally soon. Nice to have Amazon ship overnite etc and price, but quality is not the best in my opinion. Saving a few bucks not worth it, however they are the only option I have found. For anyone wanting to have spare fuses (avoid the no name Amazon JUNK-they dont fit right and break apart), I found a set of various fuses at OH Reilly's. Seems affordable and includes Mcase, micro2 and micro3. Not stocked local within 50 miles of me, but they claim store pickup within 4 hours. Here is the link:

Got my stereo complete replacement done Friday:

Amp: Audison SR6.6600
Audio Control LC7i-pro
Hertz 6.75” DCX 170.3 in the kick panels
Single JL 12” 12TW1 (sealed, downfiring box from my previous DD)
Audison Prima 4" Coaxial - front and rear pods

Very happy with how it turned out.

I installed the rear view mirror wire tap and my gen1 valentine1 detector along with the remote screen/mute. The remote is on the steering column for now.
I've had that remote for probably 15years and just never installed due to me not knowing(until a few days ago) a simple phone duplexer would power it.

Next chore is to do the same with my gen2 and the pacifica.

Also;
https://www.amazon.com/your-orders/...pmentId=NkFhjtKxy&packageId=1&asin=B08Q7ZCCDD

These were bought for my kubota rtv-x1100c doors but they fit beautifully over the 2door roll bar or on the rear most side panels if you install some snaps.
I colored that awful script with a black sharpie.

Pics of both projects are later.

Yesterday, we drove from OBX, NC to Fort Valley, VA.

On the way, we parked at the Big Meadows area along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Took a quick two-mile loop hike with the kids.

Continued on to George Washington National Forest and enjoyed the backyard view from our rental cabin.

Got up at sunrise this morning with my oldest son and we drove Peters Mill Run trail, South-to-North, from Edinburgh Gap to the Woodstock area. Fun trail, especially at the start while you’re climbing rocky terrain. Trail mellows out about half way through and becomes a winding two-track with a few rocks here and there.

Stopped for a quick photo at the northern terminus of the trail and then drove up the ridge to Woodstock Tower.

Had the 4WD control module remapped (fixing a TSB 23-2182-related issue) and the front seat bolt recall fixed at the dealership. After that, a quick drive to Long Pond to ensure all was in working order.

I'm no tech guy and am a bit scared of electronic mods, but I went to the Flashcal website and this looks cool. For now all I'd want is to add Rock Crawl, eliminate double honk and maybe ASS . Could a non-techy handle it?

I wouldn't bother for the crawl mode. Those are just a gimmick. I've never needed anything other than 4hi and 4lo. Though I belive you can add it in Forscan. Can also get rid of double honk.

Nothing wrong with a little Ass though!

Actually I used to think the same thing... but I was wrong....

The "goat modes" actually do change a number of parameters including throttle response, shift points and slip thresholds for stability and traction control... and those are beneficial... I do not use them most of the time but occasionally....

I feel like I have noticed this specifically when "bumping" an obstacle where traction is nill.
