So the wife and I decide to hit the barrier islands for a few days to wet a line and decompress.

Stopped in a local bait shop to grab essentials and read the bragging board. On the way out a local named "Ken" (that's what the name on his shirt read) asked "whatcha going after?" I replied anything that bites, but I need the ever elusive Pineapple Pizza Patch Phish to complete my inshore mall crawling grand slam. "Ken" replies you're in luck, there's been a few sightings lately at B6G Bay,and added
"Do you know where the USS Mirlo wreck is?"
I said I did, to which "Ken" answered
"well, there aint none there, you gotta go to Pineapple Point".

So off to Pineapple Point we go.
Get set up, wifes got everything she needs and I get to fish.
Couple of hours go by, no bites. I'm starting to eye the beer cooler.
Wife mentioned an old beach bum trick about pouring some beer on my bait, by now, what have I got to lose.
Cast out again..WHAM!! HOOKED UP!!
Would you look at that!! a double hook-up of the ever elusive Pineapple Pizza Patch Phish!

OH GLORIOUS DAY!!

The wife wrings hands and clutches pearls as I do cartwheels across the sand and shriek expletives.
Park Ranger races up thinking I'm having a seizure only to go straight to my rod and admire my wonderful catch.

Finally! So thank you local "Ken" for the tips and to the Benefactor fishing god for a catch of a life time that made my weekend!

I shall treasure my Pineapple Pizza Patch Phish forever.
