I would be interested to know which recall require driving the vehicle after work was completed….In my case ,shock capsule,windshield sealant and seat bolt. No reason to conduct a test drive on those.

It was for the rear shocks, two cameras that went bad and other non mechanical ones.

Assuming the test drive after the recall work was necessary, it would be pretty easy to add 12 miles in New Orleans, especially if he had to get up to highway speed.

yep, a test drive after that shock work would’ve been normal. Like I said, 12 miles in your area is nothing.

i’m not one to normally defend dealers either….

Same with the cameras. Because the calibration after replacement requires driving it for a little while.

Yep, as others said, post-recall testing (normal). Heck, mine had 460 miles as a service loaner vehicle, but the dealer extended OEM warranty an additional 6-months to 42. Should be fine.

I’ve bought a car that had 250 miles. It had been test drove a few times and swapped at least 1 other dealer.
Would I buy a new car again with that high miles? No.

dealers swap cars all the time. Having 50 miles isn’t unusual. In your case having 12 means nothing​

We had a little fun in it at the dirt lot that we were parked at when we unloaded it off the trailer. It’s OK, we do it all the time, we know what we’re doing…….. once in a blue moon something happens but no worries, my dad’s a TV repairman, and he has an awesome set of tools.

Just think if they didn’t test drive it like a lot of other dealers and verify the repair (fixed right first time) you would be going back to the dealer to get it done again.
