Ford to add Bronco pickup as it turns popular vehicles into subbrands

August 19, 2026

Ford plans to expand its lineup with a pickup version of the Bronco SUV, a four-door Mustang and a smaller version of the Transit van.

... In addition to a Bronco hybrid in 2027 and a Bronco-based pickup near the end of the decade, it plans to keep adding new Mustangs, including a four-door variant it showed dealers this summer.

I'll believe it when it happens.

Yeah because I'm sure he's never said anything that hasn't actually happened.
Maybe it will, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Who the hell wants a 4 door Mustang.
They said the same thing about a four door Porsche. If Ford uses the Mustang platform adds two more doors and calls it the Torino, or Fairlane they would sell. Dodge does this with the Charger.

If true this is why Ford stock is what it is. We already have the Ranger which is on the same platform
Ranger doesn't scratch the same itch. If you're wanting a pickup that you can take the top and doors off, you're not buying a Ranger. You're stuck with a Gladiator. Ford's goal should be putting people into a blue oval vehicle, not concerning themselves over whether that blue oval is a Bronco or a Ranger.

Let me guess, no two door version, right? I’d order one tomorrow if they made a two door.

If there is a big enough market for it I guess go for it. I still would call it something different.
