There’s a very specific moment on a camping trip that rarely makes it into the Instagram photos.
You arrive later than planned.
It’s dark.
The cooler is blocking the bag you need. Your headlamp is somewhere inside another bag. One hand is holding a flashlight, the other is trying to find a charging cable, and somebody has already asked:
“Where did you put the radio?”
This is one of the less glamorous reasons we added lighting and charging directly into the Broaddict Overhead MOLLE Panel System.
Light Where You’re Actually Working
The system has a built-in, touch-controlled LED light strip positioned overhead.
A short press turns it on or off, and holding the control adjusts the brightness.
Because the light is integrated above the cargo and passenger area, it provides broad illumination instead of creating one bright spot from a flashlight or lantern.
That becomes useful for the small things that somehow become much harder after sunset:

Then Comes the Other Camp Problem: Everything Needs Power
Phones are easy.
Then you add a GoPro.
A radio.
GPS.
A rechargeable light.
Maybe another camera.
Eventually the Bronco starts looking less like an off-road vehicle and more like somebody lost a fight with a box of charging cables.
That’s why the system also includes integrated USB and USB-C charging ports in the overhead utility area.
For devices mounted near the roof, that location matters.
Instead of running a cable from the center console, across the seat, around a backpack, and up toward a camera or radio, the charging point stays much closer to the equipment.
Fewer cables across the cabin means fewer things to snag, wrap around seatbelts, or mysteriously migrate underneath a seat.
Lighting + Charging Makes More Sense Together
For us, this is the more interesting part of the design.
The lighting and charging functions aren’t separate accessories that were added after the MOLLE panel was finished.
They’re part of the same overhead utility system.
Mount the equipment above you.
Light the area from above.
Power the equipment from above.
It sounds obvious once everything is in the same place—but anyone who has spent ten minutes looking for a USB cable in a dark Bronco knows why it matters.
Where We Think It Makes the Biggest Difference
For camping, it gives you useful light when unloading or setting up after sunset.
For trail driving, radios, cameras, GPS units, and rechargeable equipment can stay mounted and powered closer to where they’re being used.
For open-top driving, the same overhead utility functions remain available without turning the center console into cable headquarters.
And for ordinary daily use, sometimes it’s simply nice to open the Bronco at night and actually see what you’re looking for.
No dramatic overlanding expedition required.
Sometimes the best feature is just not having to hold a flashlight in your teeth while searching for a charging cable.
What Would You Power Up There First?
For anyone already using—or planning—an overhead setup in their Bronco:
What would you actually want powered up there first?
A radio?
GoPro?
GPS?
Camp light?
Something we haven’t thought of yet?
We’d genuinely like to hear how Bronco owners would use the lighting and charging setup in the real world.

Just jump into the conversation and tell us how you’d actually use the overhead lighting and charging setup in your Bronco.
Good feedback helps us build better products—and occasionally, it may also put a free storage bag in your garage.

- Organizing food and supplies
- Finding the one black MOLLE pouch hiding among six other black MOLLE pouches
