It is interesting that the intermediate LPFP remedy was delayed for software development issues, no?....or was the whole intermediate remedy a software gig?Sounds like a completely different problem from the recall. People that have had actual fuel pump failures have much different symptoms. Nobody else has been able to simply open the drivers door and have it restart.
I think that is BS. My LPFP failure was covered completely by Ford and I'm out of warranty but under the recall (maybe a different recall...God knows with as many as they have out). They even covered the flatbed tow to the dealership. I think if your failure is directly related to the recall....remedy or no remedy....Ford is obligated to fix it with the best method they got.and since the recall has no solution I would be paying them out of pocket
Our local Ford dealer told me that since the recall solution was not available there was nothing they could do to cover any repair costs under the recall. She said there may be a recourse down the road for reimbursement but that wasn't guaranteed and there was no guarantee they could resolve the issue until the recall solution is issued. That's why I took it to Royalty instead.I think that is BS. Am I right @Ducati1098?
It was always software. At least for the models that have a remedy available. It is interesting that the intermediate LPFP remedy was delayed for software development issues, no?....or was the whole intermediate remedy a software gig?
If the bronco is out of warranty coverage (depending on year/mileage), then yes it would be customer pay.I think that is BS. I agree, doesn’t seem to be related at all. Especially when you read into the recall and how it’s related to the internals of the pump being to constricted.Sounds like a completely different problem from the recall. People that have had actual fuel pump failures have much different symptoms. Nobody else has been able to simply open the drivers door and have it restart.
Nice! Love me some Royalty Auto videos. I spent some time St. Marry's back in the 90's when I was on Submarines. That's my Bronco!! Those guys were awesome. I was so nervous they weren't going to get it after the first few days. I called the Ford dealership first and they basically told me I could pay them to replace the fuel pump and do diagnosis but no guarantee they could fix it and since the recall has no solution I would be paying them out of pocket. Royalty is right up the road from me and I trust Sherwood a LOT more than the Ford dealer to get it right.
