I can't imagine that the threat of rust on the skid plates is any different than the steel frame and other ferrous containing parts. When weather permits, I make sure to add an underbody flush to any of my car washes when they're using salt on roads. You may also want to annually get under...
I disagree. I think the MIC top looks superior to any other color in combination with certain (but few) body colors like cactus grey, carbonized grey and A51. I was never a fan of race red until I saw the white top. I think overall in the future the white top will be most popular as it it...
I don't think you'll be happy with the Bronco as a family hauler or towing that large camper. If you can afford the extra vehicle, I'd keep the F150. I am close to being an empty nester, so the Bronco is downsizing for me.
It depends on the color top that you plan to have long term. There are only a couple of options that I like with the MIC top, same with black. White opens different options as well.

If I couldn't wait for the Bronco, I'd buy a Jeep but I'm in for a MY22 anyway, so I'm willing to wait. I do expect manufacturing delays and possibly temporary shutdowns due to covid outbreaks and related supply chain issues. If it does, there's nothing that Ford nor I can do about it...
My two builds are BD and BL both with the following:
Squatch
2.7l engine
Hard Top
Tow
Mid package
The BL comes to $3300 more for signature front lights, sway bar disconnect and different rear lights.
Having operated a fire command vehicle for years, having the controls out of the way and possibly being able to use the dashboard mount system for the radio will come in handy. Can you order a pursuit engine for your Bronco?
I'm in the same boat. My build includes 2.7l, squatch with mid package. I don't really need the sway bar disconnect at this point but I do plan to move to the mountains in Colorado in 3 years and plan to do a lot of exploring. At this point I really don't plan or have any desire to rock crawl...
I've gone years of Wisconsin winters driving in snow on and off road including many rough forest roads in Western states and haven't needed any locking differentials. If this is just going to stay on pavement or fair weather off pavement, I wouldn't bother with it.
I was pretty sure that I was going with carbonized grey until I saw the pics. It seemed to be one of two colors that matched the MIC hard top well. Now I'm not so sure that I like it. Hopefully they will have new colors with MY22.
