Had this exact incident happen to my Bronco except USAA won’t total unless it’s over a certain percentage of vehicle’s worth. They ended up replacing the rear half of the frame and it runs and drives fine. Work was about $17,000. I can pull the repair papers if you’re interested.
I’ve been told several different things at this point. I’m just letting them do what they have to do because this is taking way too long. I’ve mad 4 payments so far and 2 of those are while it’s been in the shop
Insurance came to the conclusion it needs a frame swap. Waiting for it to be taken to a shop to do so. And then I’ll have to fight for diminish in value once repairs are done
Could be worse. But we’re 2 months in, I’m still making payments, and repairs haven’t even started yet. Insurance just decided it needs a whole frame swap. Just a giant inconvenience
Just got a call back from the shop, they said the whole frame needs to be replaced. Waiting to hear from USAA, I assume some time tomorrow, if that means total or not
That’s what I’m trying to do. I actually found a better one, that I put a deposit on and got delivered to the lot yesterday, when Gieco told me it was totaled at first. Don’t know why USAA is giving me such a hard time. They can easily get their money back from Gieco since they have it in their...
I stated it in another reply I think, but her insurance limits weren’t high enough for them to pay me the vehicles value. I believe the limit in Texas is $25,000 and we all know it’s probably worth double that. So I’m forced to go through my insurance.
I've spent my night doing some research on frame repairs, specifically ford. I found a great video explaining the different frame pieces -
Within this video, it shows that there are multiple different sections of the rear frame (picture attached). After looking at USAAs original estimate, they...
Yes. Every frame has its own VIN. The reason it’s a salvaged title is because I’d have 2 separate VINs - 1 for the frame and 1 for the body.
At least this is what I was told by her insurance, Gieco
This is part of my struggle right now. When her insurance told me it was totaled, I went and found one that was in transit and put a deposit down. This was a week or so ago. Within the last few days, USAA told me they are looking into the repair route and I was just told today that the new...
Exact questions I'm looking for answers to  I'm hoping there's an auto adjustor or something similar looking through the forum that can help me out
I almost always do too. But this time I just turned out of a parking lot and was stopped at a stop light a few hundred feet down. The girl who hit me came from a stop sign a few hundred feet straight behind me. Honestly have to idea how she managed to not see me. It’s definitely a situation...
A frame can be ordered, but then I’d be a salvaged title. At that point it’s be cheaper for insurance to total it because the diminish in value is astronomical on a salvaged title.
I started out using the girls insurance who caused the accident. Their insurance was going to total it for this...
As the title says, my Bronco got rear ended while sitting at a red light after only having made 2 payments on it. As the shop digs into it, they're stating that a whole frame rail needs to be replaced. Seeing that these Broncos are fairly expensive, the cost of repairs isn't enough to total it...
