Given the fuel dilution that a 2.7L engine has, I would have changed it long ago. In the first 1,000 miles, the factory oil in my 2.7L was already an xW-20 viscosity.
I would change it.
Rear steel bumper from Bronco Badlands. Bought to replace the plastic bumper on my Wildtrak, but decided to go in a different direction.
Includes bumper caps and clips. No wiring or backup sensors.
Can meet within reasonable distance of Northgate area in Colorado Springs.
$160
My PhD has consumed my "play with/upgrade the Bronco free time", but I would run 75W-140. This is what Dana (who makes the axle) recommends and there is zero downside to using it versus a lighter viscosity.
There are some who will argue that you will see a reduction in MPG, but a headwind...
@KingLeonidas - hopefully, this will help:

Agreed; I look into it quite a while ago and I could not see a way to make it work.
Given the ultra limited space near the fill port on the transmission, you will need one of the "candy cane" style tubes and a pressure tank to refill it as shown here...
SynPower should be available in "flex bags" so you should not have to pump into the axle, just squeeze the bags. One of these is a lifesaver:

Run 75W-140 in both. Dana Spicer recommends it in both axles. Ford (and nearly all OEMs running Dana axles) reduce the viscosity in the quest to comply with CAFE credits aka maximum MPG which is not conducive to longevity.
Any GL-5 fluid will work as it is better to change it more often versus...
Note that Blackstone will not give you an accurate reading on fuel dilution (if that is what you are checking). Blackstone uses a highly subjective flame test--you need gas chromatography to be 100% accurate.
Gang,
I have the Wildtrak plastic bumper and just picked up a steel Badlands bumper. Do I:
- Reuse the Wildtrak brackets and sensors?
- Need to change the sensor brackets and re-use the Wildtrak sensors?
- Need to change the brackets and sensors?
I am assuming that if I can reuse the...
I am not convinced the cold weather is a major factor unless the "tune" you described is accurate. I have taken long trips (COS to HOU) when the dilution should be lowest and it has been more or less the same.
In the winter months when it was fairly new, I was seeing 2.4% and 1.9% so it is...
My latest UOA after installing the aFe Pro Dry S air filter. @Nc211 - the silicon levels are good at 5PPM for this run and given that I opened the filter housing, I had expected it to be higher for this first run. It should drop a little more if the aFe is a better filter versus the Ford.
All...
Yes; I posted some measurements quite a while back. I am running RCI aluminum plates and there was no issue with clearance.
