I'm updating this post because I'm getting serious about selling it now. Current mileage is 31,128 by the attached photo, and the condition is still excellent. This Bronco has been 100% reliable, everything works exactly as it's supposed to. It currently has one recall for the rear shocks...
Got some new stuff from @DV8offroad and they are badass, came in very well packaged...not that they needed it, some seriously tough stuff for interior accessories.
Ready to install. Is it just me, or are these screws total overkill for holding door pockets?
Done, looks great. Much better...
Wow it's been a long time since I updated this thread! I guess I've just been driving too much. We just got back from a little vacation to Perdido Key and the Bronco just keeps rolling along, no issues at all. Four oil changes and tire rotations since I last updated this thread, with the only...
There is nothing like hitting the brakes hard, catching that perfect heel-toe downshift to 3rd, trailbraking with the tail just stepping out, and making that inside pass with the throttle on the floor. A paddle shift might be quicker, but nowhere near as rewarding. Yeah I'm old school, but...
LOL we are exactly the opposite. Sports cars are more enjoyable with a manual transmission. It won't be a track car, but I could certainly get it on track once or twice. But woking the gears, heel-toe, is just more fun. Now on an offroad vehicle, auto all the way. No clutch to worry about...
It's a Dark Horse, it has to be black! I haven't see too many black DHs in the wild, most seem to be gray or white. Once in a while one of the very early handling pack cars comes on the market and they are still trading at a premium, while the regular ones are at or below MSRP. So I wait...
Believe it or not, nothing to report. While they are delivering Dark Horse Mustangs, they aren't building any with the handling pack, and that's a requirement for me. Apparently the parts are impossible to get. My dealer has offered me others with current build slots, but I told him I want...
Life changes and it's time to find my Bronco a new home. This was the first vehicle I ever ordered exactly like I wanted, and it was worth the 2 year wait to get it. And now it's been 2+ years of flawless driving, enjoying road trips and camping, everyday driving and having fun with friends...
I've said it over and over, the best solution is the Bestop Sunrider. Easy flip open the front any time you want, solid rear hard top with tinted windows for rear coverage. Party in the front, business in the back. Yes it's a little noisy, but it's not a Mercedes folks.
It was really tough. It was a unique rig, amazing capabilities and I had a huge number of trips in it. And that custom turbo setup made it so much better. But. I'm 55 years old and the maintenance was getting tough for me. The last straw was a blown turbo wastegate actuator - a $30 part...
'04 Corvette and a '97 Land Cruiser Safari Turbo. I still haven't tracked the Bronco or taken it out west...maybe I need to revisit my "replacement" ideas.
Finally! Been waiting on this ever since they announced it. Pretty easy to set up, and appeared in CarPlay right away. I've already been playing with the camera feature, and now I'm looking for trails. So far it looks pretty good, I hope it delivers on the promise.
Sticker, and not a penny over. There won't be a Dark Horse under sticker for a long time. This is the same dealer I ordered the Bronco through and they held to sticker there too.
