That’s exactly how I have mine right now!
In the meanwhile, I’ve also built a storage area which flattens out the rear to match the height of the folded down seats. This is now where I put my side windows. It keeps them flat and extra protected from junk being tossed in the back.
Thanks,
The hinge was less than $10. I didn’t make the whole top “liftable”; about 1/3 is Fixed/screwed to the frame underneath the lid for structural support. I can easily reach underneath it tho.
I like the idea of the metal storage box, but it makes the back much higher than the rear seats when they’re folded flat. This is a problem as it makes door storage ride too high, but most problematic is how it makes laying flat to sleep impossible.
As I plan to sleep on the back on trips up to...
Not yet, although I’m sure if dirt got in there it could. I’m planning to overlap the windows with a cloth to prevent any chance of that. Probably more likely to scratch each other if the plastic is dirty.
The side windows are riding perfectly flat against the back seat.
What you see curling around at the sides are the hard, molded plastic corners of the rear window that remain curled wherever you put them. So far, it seems that it’s this rigid curled plastic structure that actually gives some...
I’ve been driving with my rear windows off for ease of folding my top down for 14 of 17 days since delivery.
On my first drive, I thought they were about to take flight and end up on the interstate behind me.
I knew that I didn’t want to store them permanently in the garage, so I ordered a...
I just did the reset on my rear driver side door window. I’m not sure if you have to hold it five seconds after the completion of the roll up in five seconds after the completion of the roll down. I don’t think that you have to do it for those five seconds, because at the completion of the roll...
I’m hoping for a slide-out storage drawer that will be flush with the rear seats when they’re folded flat. This would make it a smooth(ish) surface to lay a camping pad or mattress on.
It's called CAPITALISM. We already live by that model. Why do you get paid at work? Are you worth what you charge? Really? Are you? Im glad that those willing to not drive it are willing to sell it to those who are.
Apparently Ford realized that several good things had been laid to rest in the past.
oil pressure dummy lights.
Top mounted oil filters.
…anyone remember the oil bath air filters? Those were legit!
Maybe they can bring back the electrical failure idiot lights too! #vw
The (static, non-friction) block may be non-ferrous aluminum, but the moving parts which rub, create friction and will produce metallic shards are generally steel. If an aluminum block starts falling, you’ll have bigger problems than the typical wear and tear of cranks and cams rubbing on bearings.
