so... I removed the insert. It's obviously causing the cracks as it tightens and pushes the two sides apart. I slathered a bunch of jb weld behind the bracket, got a large washer to sit behind the bracket, larger than the insert. Then just went back with the bolt and used the insert as...
Went hunting for a metallic buzz that's been haunting me since new, but only really got bad when it was warm out. So, I found a crack in the metal mounting tab. Since this is a floating attachment nut thing, it doesn't appear over tightening would have caused it... Anyway, I guess I'll...
Here's what I got. They don't look or feel low quality. It might just be a lot to ask of a 1/4" lag screw that long. All my other shelving uses 5/16 or 3/8. If I ever have to move this mount, I'll probably just drill a slightly larger hole in the rail and use a beefier lag screw.
That was disappointing and didnt get to put it where I wanted. I've put up tons of shelving in this garage, its soft pine 2x4s. Pre-drilled the full 3" with a long bit. Used only a mini 1/4 rachet by hand, going slowly so the lag bolts dont get too hot, even took turns on other bolts so...
after being told I needed to drop off the vehicle for 3 weeks just to diagnose it, I haven't had service track it down. I assumed it was the active air shutters, but later a Ford tech who just happened to be walking by when it happened said he thought it was a throttle body cycling when powered on.
I also just started having that jarring audible stutter noise in AA when activating the backup camera. I second dropouts are 10x mode regular. Disconnects at least one in 5 or 6 drives now. I really appreciate they locked out reconnecting while moving now. Neat.
I have the factory tube doors, I'm going to get the front mounting kit now while its on sale. I'll report back. At least for the fronts. When it goes back on sale, I'll see about the rear kit, see if that also works on the factory tube doors.
Mine also shows up as AC work in my history, but my warranty and expire date are correct. Does this need to be corrected or changed? My local Ford dealership has been so backed up, I haven't been able to have any concerns addressed or get the first day rental I paid for. Really hoping it...
I've had mine off a couple times without breaking them. I pushed in on the sides of the cover and pulled carefully, anticipating that only one tab would break free at a time. yeah, one forceful yank will release one and break the others. This post will help you locate the tabs...
yes, full 12" screen black out, not just the AA part, no controls responding, a first time for me as well. Only a vehicle restart brought it back, not the usual 2 button Ford Sync restart.
I know its been mentioned but I thought my pods were the worst investment ever, then I checked the foam blocks on the speaker covers and I had indentions on the cone's foam surround. Even though I'm running the B&O and all the limitations that entails, and maybe only getting a small uplift in...
I wanted the Sas wheels, but not the lift or 35's. So I got low mileage sas wheels off marketplace for $800 as I recall. Then for $120, I powder coated the rings because I didnt want that bright silver that doesnt match anything else. The 33" KO2's hurt at about $1700 for all 5...
It only ships in a bunch of parts/hardware to reduce damage in shipping. Once put together, you only have to keep track of a couple bolts and the bits you used, the Sunrider removes for storage in one piece. I keep the longer bolts needed in the toolkit in the glove box so they wont get lost.
If your passengers will also want full sun (or you also get a mesh sun screen) that is. Not in my case, my wife and kid will usually alternate the passenger to back seats, while my idiot self gets too much sun. Also, the sunrider can be opened and closed from the drivers seat, without...
for 90% of my driving, the noise is acceptable, but if I'm going to go a long road trip (like 6+ hours) with the wife and kid where I might be going 75-80mph, it's worth the 15 mins to swap back so we can talk and listen to music at reasonable volume. And I'm not going some place scenic...
imo, if you have another set of hands to steady it into place, you don't need a professional installer. It's not even heavy, one person could easily lift/position it. I had my kid get inside and help hold it up while I guided it into place. On road trips, I swap it back to hard panels...
