  2. Sway Bar quick disconnects

I got rid of my ACFab. Other posts here about it. Carli looks neat, more expensive than Rock Jock, but what I think I like about Rock Jock is that have a complete BOM (bill of material) of all the parts in their system down to the bolts. My thinking is that, should you ever need service, they...
  3. Sway Bar quick disconnects

Tying this thread to another ā€¦ RockJock AntiRocks $848 as of April ā€˜24: https://www.rockjock4x4.com/RJ-286100-101 Carli Bronco Front Torsion Swaybar $1,350 as of April ā€˜24...
  4. Sway Bar quick disconnects

PpP, are you any closer to being able to compare these three? Without ā€œdataā€ which would you hand off post-tax dollars for? Iā€™m leaning towards Carli but I donā€˜t know why reallyā€¦
  5. (fun list!) Bronco accessories to be avoided! (keep it friendly)

I removed my AC Fab manual swaybar disconnects. I tried hard to lube the heims (sp) but they made so much noise and kept coming loose so often I couldnā€™t solve the problem. Neighbor had them too, but he has a different revision which is mechanically / physically different than mine. Iā€™ve written...
  6. Stubby antenna recommendations?

After four months Iā€™ve removed the TEKK antenna and returned to stock. Really bad reception with the TEKK.
  7. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

Iā€™m amazed how free Nevada is. Was just texting two buddies from IL and OH how I drove off road on Peavine past RVā€˜s, RV ā€œcommunitiesā€œ (like a group of 10 of them living together), and a dude plinking off the side of the road.
  8. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

Thanks. I was surprised this guy was stuck on Peavine. His side-by-side was stuck three miles ahead too. Not as ā€œeasyā€ as I was thinking. Anyway, this experience has caused me to update my recovery kit a bit. I ruined my soft shackle. ;-)
  9. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

I just watched your full video. My god. You are one lucky person. The angels are with you. I hope you donā€™t mind, but summarized my learning from watching your video and reading this forum as follows: 1. Connect soft shackles through a metal D-shackle, rather than directly through the clevis...
  10. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

ALL ā€” I was VERY wrong with that assumption above. Very wrong. I finally watched the FULL PoPo Patty video and suggest everyone SPEND THE TIME watching it. Itā€™s 53 minutes, but worth it. Net net .. YES, soft shackles can become death projectiles. Luckily he didnā€™t die but his windshield was...

That video is spectacular. THANK YOU!!! šŸ™
  12. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

I too have this question. Above in all the recovery videos I posted, some say go right to the kinetic pull. But others say kinetic recovery is your last resort. Equally important, I think, is to maximize your system to the lowest weighted vehicle. CLEARLY with my 19,000 pound bubba rope it was...
  13. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

FOLDED - If I'm honest, we did try it folded however, in the video posted above, it was not folded. SLAMMING - thank you for the 'easing into it tip'. I was clearly slamming and a bit concerned that wasn't just right. I like the 5MPH suggestions I've seen here. To that end, should we have some...
  14. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

very nice. Slow and smooth. How the heck did they get over those rocks in the first place?
  15. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

Appreciate this. Clearly I should have used my rear receiver shackle setup made for kinetic ropes. I didnā€™t have traction boards with me, nor did the truck owner. Seems like a logical investment. Perhaps Iā€™ll put that n the 2024 budget, especially after this 1/1 adVenture. You know, shoveling is...
  16. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

I have that but chose not to use it. Why not reverse? B/c of the low gearing?
  17. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

Incidentally, Iā€™m watching Mattā€™s Recovery on YT right now and they are pulling a Tacoma from the front. They chose NOT to use the Tacomaā€™s front shackles. on the bronco with the steel bumper, are the shackle mounts connected to the bumper or to the frame?
  18. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

Perhaps I have not done enough research but I thought death projectiles was a risk when not using soft shackles. Clearly I should have used weighted blankets, Stuff Iā€™ve followed prior to this, FWIW. Please give suggestions or verbal lashing if Iā€™m way out of line. Iā€™m not fond of death or...
  19. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

God no. But I could have, should have, put my hitch receiver shackle on his truck. Stupidly I put the gater jaws through his side receiver holes (where you mount safety chains or stabilizers). In the end I slightly wore the gater jaw on his end. My end was fine.
  20. Peavine Mountain Rescue with my Bronco Wildtrak

So my son lives in Reno and has been urging me to drive the Bronco up there to go off-roading. He suggested Peavine mountain because itā€™s an easy trail and even cars will drive up it. Given itā€™s still winter up there I thought fair enough and itā€™d be a nice mid afternoon outing. We drove...
