corrosion could do that if it was between like an aluminum tube and the outer plastic. Also, do you have clay that gets super slick when it rains where you live? clays tend to swell when wet so that could maybe have caused it too. it gets in as dust and packs in, then gets wet and swells up.

You need the steel bumper specific sensor holders. I reused my sensors and wiring, although the wiring is slightly different between the two i believe, as far as lengths and routing.

which transfer case do you have? there has been some discussion as to whether the advanced tcase has an actual locked center diff in 4-low or if it just applies the clutches like the jeep 392 transfer case does, which has led to some failures rendering the rig 2wd only.

Yeah, the problem is that there are only so many paint lines at the factory, so if they add one, they have to get rid of another one. When they have four different versions of gray and tan, that takes up lines that could be used for other colors.

try spraying some lube under the two plastic blocks near the top of the inner tailgate. Mine were dry and have not made a sound since lubing them up with some wd-40 over 20k miles ago. They were clicking/popping every time the body flexed.
seems like you're talking about the matt's offroad recovery video where the guy says he broke the locker and it messed with the computer. I'd bet there is much more to the story as it looked like that guy had portals and a bunch of other mods that likely affected that failure.

I think it goes out of the rear hatch area through the drain plug in the compartment under the floor, which i wasn't a huge fan of, but it works.
