Yes, that is the method prescribed by Ford. The mechanic that worked on mine did not do this however. He dismantled the grille, fenders, etc and performed the work that way. 10k miles later and running great.

Yes. They told me it’s safe to drive while waiting on parts to repair. I put 1500 miles on while awaiting parts.

Mine is all done. No more rattle! It took them 4 days to complete the fix. I haven't noticed any differences in engine performance or anything. Just glad the rattle is gone.

I’d say no, coincidental yes. The cam phasers are becoming a known issue with the 2.7 just likes it’s big brother the 3.5.

Mine doesn’t have to go that long. It will do it within 2 hrs. Dealer called me other day. The parts are in and my Bronco goes in for the repair on 3/13. They expect it to take all week as the engine has to be pulled to perform the repair. I’m a little nervous because this their first Bronco...

I did one at 1100 miles. The noise started around 7k miles. I performed a second oil change and it didn’t eliminate the noise.

I’m thinking this is way to loud and pronounced to be the waste gate linkage. I watched some videos of that on YouTube.

That sounds exactly like mine! I have 7k miles on my bronco. Glad to hear they were able to fix it and it hasn’t returned. Thanks for sharing.

Hi all, my ‘22 2.7l has developed a very pronounced rattle during cold startup. It lasts roughly 4 or 5 secs before the noise drops out. It sounds like a Diesel engine. I have a service appointment scheduled with my Dealer. Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a Cam phaser issue? TIA

I’ve ran mine through a touchless automatic for its first wash. Noticed a trickle ran down inside of rear windshield. Upon closer inspection, the rubber seal was dropped down a good 1/2”. I firmly pressed the seal in place and the problem was solved. Fast forward a couple weeks during a 3”...
