Ford Bronco Bronco Off Rodeo at Mt. Potosi (Vegas) 20250725_151433
Just got back from an unforgettable long weekend at Bronco Off-Roadeo on Mt. Potosi in Vegas. I took my Outer Banks “mall crawler” out to the trails and came back with a whole new appreciation for what the Ford Bronco is truly capable of. From steep climbs to rugged descents, this truck impressed at every turn. We were fortunate to have Magic Mike as our lead instructor—he guided our group of six while driving a 2.3L Everglades Sasquatch, snorkel and all. The experience was not only thrilling but also incredibly informative. For just $200 plus Nevada fees, I was able to add my wife as a second adult driver. The package included a full day of off-roading, expert instruction, and even lunch and dinner. Whether you’re a new Bronco owner or just thinking about becoming one, I can’t recommend it enough.

That’s where I went back in 2023, it was a great time and I learned a lot from the guides. I def recommend if you can go to do it. I want to check out the Tennessee location so I can get the experience in different terrains.

Brings back memories. I was out there with my wife last year - we had Anthony as our instructor. It was a great time and coming from Virginia where there's so much forestry, it was awesome to off-road in such open space.

Congrats! I’ve been to three, but not the two out west. What was the best thing you remember and tell everyone about? And what was for lunch and dinner?

Nevada was a blast! My girlfriend wasn't too thrilled about it at first. After, she couldn't stop talking about how fun it was. On so many levels. Pretty cool that you could use your own rig!

First time off-roading—and wow, the Bronco Off-Roadeo was a wild ride from start to finish. So much to absorb about the Bronco’s G.O.A.T. modes (yep, Goes Over Any Terrain really means it). Baja mode was the highlight: tearing down a rocky dirt trail at nearly 40mph, and somehow, the faster we went, the smoother it got. Felt like flying on wheels!
They kept us fueled too—lunch was roasted chicken, potatoes, veggies, and salad, capped off with massive, warm oatmeal raisin cookies that hit like dessert gold. Dinner? A hearty spread of steak, chicken, more potatoes, veggies, salad, and rich brownies. Only thing missing? An ice-cold beer to toast the dust and adrenaline—maybe next time!

Agreed BOR is worth every penny.
We did Texas back in 2023 and last year on our way to Moab we stopped at the Nevada site and of course Moab.

We drove out to Vegas in our Bronco between Christmas and New Years, but there were no Off Roadeo events then. We took the Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire roads, though. Beautiful country outside of the city. I would gladly go back for Off Roadeo there and more burgers at the Pioneer Saloon.

The Moab trail is publicly accessible - Dome Plateau and some nearby side trails. I'd say on the OnX rating scale of 1-10, it's a solid 5. A couple of spots you will get a wheel up, but no real tricky off-camber stuff, nor anything you need to hop or pivot over using a skid plate, and no winching or significantly loose traction areas (at least intentionally).

Lots of rocks, a good bit of angles, and good variety of terrain. They are trying to showcase as much as they can.

The only things we really skipped over - Trail Turn Assist (being public land, they mentioned it does tear up the trail and doing it 10 times a day wasn't a good idea), 360 cameras (Get out and look was the overwhelming message), and front locker (nothing challenging enough to warrant it, you could run the trail entirely without the rear locker if you really wanted to).

While they did demo the sta-bar disco, not all Broncos there had one, so you got to see with and without, and experience one or the other depending on which rig you were driving. All of them made it over, just a matter of how much air you got on the non-planted corner.
