I kept mine is pretty good shape. Obviously no rust so they installed new covers.
It has the plastic covers on the reservoirs already. The new larger covers now clamp the reservoirs and the body of the shocks together.

Probably keeps them from leaking until right after the warranty expires.
Took mine in and they verified no leaks yet. Said they had to order the repair parts/kits per vehicle before performing repairs. Guess we'll see how long this takes.

I just drove home from getting mine done and it was the same situation as OP’s. No need for new shocks. Just installed the new covers.

Dealership also verified that my wireless CarPlay issue must be related to my phone as they were able to get their iPhones to work. So I guess I’m doing a full reset on my phone today to see if I can fix that nagging problem.

It’s intended to keep them from falling off. They also sealed around the joint between the reservoir and the shock body to keep water out. Hopefully it works. Unless you live in the rust belt, they should be fine.

I'm on the fence about getting this done - no corrosion so far. I've got the ASFIR rear shock skids, which would likely hold the reservoir if it fell off. I think the new covers would still fit behind the skids, but thinking I'm better off being able to see if they start corroding, and don't want to 'seal in' any corrosion that may have started but is not evident now. Thoughts?

Couple things: I only have 13,000 miles on mine, so getting it done. Other thing is I don't know that you can sell a vehicle with an active recall? šŸ¤”

I’ve been back and forth on getting the recall. I have rear skids now and they’ll
Prob give me shit taking them off 🤣

Also I have the 100k warranty so I feel when it it goes I’ll get em replaced
Either way, but I’m
Also like. Maybe just get new better ones and don’t worry about the recall

Ford will pay dealers to remove aftermarket parts if needed to do a warranty or recall repair.

I’m not to concerned about them
Being paid, I’m Worried about them not re installing, breaking it. Or just other lack of quality work from the recall tech, per usually at the dealer

Well, I have good news on the CarPlay front (and updated a separate thread I had started about this as well).

Last time I just did a ā€œResetā€ of my iPhone. This time I did a full factory delete and restore and cleared everything on the phone. Removed all the previous connections on both the phone and Bronco. And it worked! I got wireless CarPlay to connect for the first time in several months just now.

Let’s see if this continues to work going forward. I’m going to avoid having any other phones ever connect to my system after this as it sounds like some people noticed this happened to them after they had another phone connect (and I did connect my wife’s phone before I started having my problems).

Eventually I'll go that route, but can't afford upgrades yet $$$

My wireless CarPlay has worked great on my previous ā€˜23 Bronco BD and my current’24 Bronco Heritage. Never had other phones connected.
Good to hear yours is working.
