I’ve seen a couple other posts, but figured I’d add a thread for anyone else interested in swapping to the newer style, stitched console lid/armrest.

Grabbed the newer Badlands part - P2DZ-7806024-BA - to upgrade my ‘23.

From the backseat, release the rear console trim by pulling back, starting from the top.

Then there is a single rod holding the armrest assembly that slides out to the driver’s side.

For the lock mechanism, I removed the front “faceplate” trim around the lock and release button w/ a trim tool. You can then remove the lock cylinder by pressing the retaining clip down and pulling the cylinder through the front. Then just push it into the new armrest assembly.

Easy swap that makes a nice cosmetic upgrade in my opinion.

Looks super Nice,

The new one (P2DZ-7806024-BA) does it not come with a lock assembly? does it have the latch assembly? Curious if maybe you grabbed a photo of the underside?

Definitely I am liking the look. Thanks for the share. I want to maybe pick one up too.

Thanks! Happy with how it turned out.

Grabbed mine off eBay, but don’t believe directly from Ford would include the lock cylinder since it is keyed for your physical key.

It did include the latch/release. Nothing really to see from underneath as there is another trim piece.

I wish I would have seen these before. It doesn’t look like this is available anywhere currently.

Is this only for badlands?

I wonder if there's an oem option for the brown leather interior of OBX? 🤔

This has been on the list of things I want to do for my Wildtrak if I can match the stitching color.

Nice swap & matching to upholstery, which should be factory vs. aftermarket (thanks Ford). ;) :D

yeah it looks nice but it would definitely look out of place if that's the only color option.
I've got the quilted pad cover over mine right now & I like it, but it's wearing out after 25k miles.

How much does that part cost?
I have a mabett rubber type of pad over the console which I actually like quite a bit. It helps to keep the original one from getting scratched up.
Might consider this, but curious as to the cost.

Google is free.
You just copy/paste the P/N that the OP provided & hit enter.
This appears to be anywhere from $140-$170 depending on where you purchase it from
