Has anyone removed the center console lid? If so could you share the process? I'd love to take mine off to get some more elbow room when rowing the gears on my 7spd.

I think it's just a couple bolts to remove it.

I guess I have to look harder. So far they all seem to be hidden. Any idea which panel they are behind?

Sit in the backseat. Grasp the rear of the consul and pull it straight back towards you. If you grab it near the top and pull firmly the whole back panel will release. Consul bolts are near the top. Don’t pull too aggressively as the lighter/power socket, USB ports etc. are all wired with relatively short connections so you don’t wanna break anything.

Hi question, do you know how to remove the key cylinder from the center console lid?

Finally got warm enough to give this a try without fear of breaking clips.
super easy. Pull back on the rear cover as described by fatrat.
no bolts or tools needed. Just slide the axle out and then reinstall the back cover.

pictured with axle nearly all the way removed and lit still in place.
Wish I had done this on day one. So much more enjoyable to go through the gears. And steer to the right!

I actually like it removed for more than just elbow room. Call be crazy but lifting the lid to grab sunglasses or a hat was a nuisance of a step.
