Thanks for the vid. I’ll probably do plugs at 60k. Your take on synthetic vs. blend has the potential to set off an epic-length thread. I just assumed synthetic is always better so I’ll be following.
good idea on the plugs, again as far synthetic , that’s what I use. Saying that, I have watched several people who break down engines and they pretty much all agree that synthetic leaves a coating on engines when driven in a way that doesn’t allow extended operation that holds proper temperature. Thanks for the vid. Thanks Tonka Bronco,Yes, long time Amsoil dealer here. That's the first that I've heard that one, and I've heard a ton. It would have to be a very short drive not to bring it to temp. Not a dealer anymore so no dog in this fight. I use Mobile 1 full syn now, (big fight with Amsoil, great product, horrible policies) mileage depends on how much and how hard I tow, but typically 5-7K. Congrats on your 100K! I'm just under 50K on my 21. I changed all fluids except coolant at 1,500 and I have to say my manual transmission shifts beautifully.
Tech UN, yours is just in her late 20’s lol50k+ on a 21. Did drive line fluids and an air filter so far...
Where are all the full synthetic guys who say you are going to destroy your engine with semisynthetic that is recommended by Ford??full motorcraft synthetic every 5000-6000 miles, transmission fluid changed and diffs changed @ 60,000, original plugs and coils. I have a reusable air filter that I think I have cleaned 4 times.
I would not recommend full synthetic unless you drive a lot of miles per day (i Have seen some engine tear downs and seems to be detrimental unless the engine is well heated up for some time) better off using synthetic blend. But thats just the opinion of those tearing down the engines.
Why plugs at 60k when Ford recommends at 100k or above? Thanks for the vid. I’ll probably do plugs at 60k. Your take on synthetic vs. blend has the potential to set off an epic-length thread. I just assumed synthetic is always better so I’ll be following.
Ford says 60k under certain Special Operating Conditions. Why plugs at 60k when Ford recommends at 100k or above?
My manual says 60. Was shocked. Used to 100 or 120k on a Ford. But those were not turbo engines. Why plugs at 60k when Ford recommends at 100k or above?
