They are not going to give you a new vehicle. You can attempt to do a buyback through Ford but that will take several weeks for approval. And buybacks are usually reserved for major issues and those they can't figure out.

I get it, it sucks that your brand new Bronco is in the shop at only 600 miles, but replacing a lifter is not that big of a deal and I would surprised if they swapped out the engine as the fix.

As far as showing up on a Carfax or harming resale value, I am unsure. Maybe @Ducati1098 can shine some light on how this type of warranty work gets reported.

I’m not very familiar with how things get reported to carfax.
However IMO, repairs don’t affect resale value.
I’m not sure why some get overly concerned about a simple repair. Have it fixed and move on. It’ll probably be perfectly fine. And if it’s not, deal with it then

It's a mass produced vehicle and things unfortunately happen to some. Sounds like Ford is handling it under warranty as they should so I can't see the issue here. Do people really think they should buy back the vehicle for everyone that has an issue, be it mechanical or electrical ?

I completely agree that now every issue constitutes a buy back/replacement.

But there definitely has to be a line where this does warrant that and to me a full engine swap feels like that would meet the criteria.

if it was a failed water pump or a starter sure, fix it under warranty and let’s move on.

There’s really no difference. It’s a part failure. These things happen every day in mass produced vehicles.
Have it fixed and you still have 5 years and almost 60k miles of warranty to not worry about it.
It has a warranty for a reason

I don't see that repair as a big issue at all. I was pretty upset that it took 9 weeks to get mine back and many people told me I should enact the Lemon Law. If once they got the correct parts in and it did not solve the problem I probably would have. However, it runs great now and I am very happy with it.

I was very leery about it for the next couple thousand miles, but I don't even think about it anymore. I have never heard of replacing parts like that affecting resale value. If it had many problems that needed to be fixed, then resale value may be affected.

I bought a new 89 Ranger and it developed a crack in one head within the first 2,000 miles. The dealer replaced that head and I never had a single problem with it after that.

Collision repair is another story,
