Does anyone off hand know what the stock targeted boost values are. I’ve done some searching and can’t find a solid answer

I think 14psi is targeted max.

If you believe the on board sensor, i have just once hit 18, can easily pull 16.5 but sometimes apparently the vehicle thinks all I need is a quick downshift without boost and other times under modest acceleratio it will kick in at up to 7-8

I’ve seen a max of 18 on mine in Baja on full tilt.
I’ve seen posts of 20 with the manual.

Ok thank you guys, I have the auto and I haven’t pushed it passed half throttle since I’m still in the break in period and I’ve only seen about 11 psi. I’m plenty familiar with turbo cars, but just wasn’t sure what the boost target was. My old car was a lancer evolution running 40 pounds of boost lol so this is a little different for me haha

Is the max boost presure dependent on the gasoline octane? Higher boost pressures result in an increased dynamic compression ratio, which can lead to potential pre-detonation issues. How is this controlled? Can higher boost pressures be obtained by using higher octane gasoline?

I have a feeling the knock sensor picks up knock levels based on the fuel and it adjusts timing and boost accordingly

As you can see, I’m having a hard time with your 40 PSIG boost pressure. Was the engine supercharged and not turbocharged?

Was your boost gauge actually reading INCHES OF MERCURY and not PSIG? This would be a fairly common measurement in Japan.

Your average diesel truck will push near 35psi in stock form.
I’ve seen plenty of turbocharged 4cyls and 6cyl make 40+, there’s a few Civics upwards of 80+ by me.

Mine will show just north of 19 lbs. on the 2.7l tt. it won’t in first or second, you need to be in 3+ gear and on premium.

Regular I’m seeing 15-17 with some 18’s here and there. My hypothesis is regular isn’t always just regular as it’s a guaranteed min octane but not max.

Ya the Bronco is tuned to neuter the boost in low gears.
