I am mainly using on pavement with no heavy off-roading People are putting 33 on with no issues and no mods to a base would there be a major difference going 2 in more? Also wouldn’t 1 inch level kit and 1 inch spacers make the set up work? I know the gearing issue but there is a guy on here with a base 2 dr with 35 s off-roading any input is appreciated other wise I will have a set of 35 sas wheels and tires up for sale

I’m in a similar situation and was wondering the same thing. Did you ever figure anything out?

I put on a set of 285/75/16 tires on 16x8 wheels. I noticed some rubbing when making turns and had to remove the rear crash bars. Other than that, no real mpg, rpm, or other issues to note. Adding M/Ts did give it a little tweak shake after 65 mph though, so there’s that.

I put the sas takeoffs on my base a week after I got it I did remove front and rear crash bars. That was the only mod I did. No rubbing at all and the ride is great. I do not yet off road so I can’t say how it would work in serious situations. With hardtop and roof rack it fits in my garage with half inch to spare so no level kit will be installed

Pizza cutters! Those would fit the 16” base rims no problem?
Yes and a mud terrain would look BOSS.
I had 255/80/17 BFG KM2’s on my 4Runner.
