Welcome from Wisconsin with ties to Texas. Grandfather owned a Ranch in Medina and my mother and father ended up building a house in Kerrville.

I'm not. San Diego is in pretty rough shape. Who founded Luby's? I know there is a Luby Street, but I didn't know the founders lived in SD.
Another interesting rumor, and I can't confirm this, but there was a bar there in SD where it is believed Santa Anna stopped at for a drink while on the way to the Alamo. This is something that my aunt had told me about 35 years ago.

I'll ask my wife. She'll probably laugh, but who knows? Maybe, it's true. We almost bought a house that was a stagecoach stop, in SD. It was on the route running between Mexico and San Antonio. Hell, it may be the place your aunt was talking about. The house is really cool. If we end up back there, I am hoping we get the chance at it, again.
